THE ONE THOUSAND PEACE CRANE GOAL HAS BEEN REACHED AS OF 1/6/12. (PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY MORE PEACE CRANES.)

Thank you to everyone who made peace cranes!

There's a story told in Japan that if you make a thousand origami Peace Cranes, you or someone you love will be healed. This group is for those who wish to make an origami Peace Crane which will then be sent to the Hiroshima Peace Museum.

I'd just like to tell everyone who has been involved in this project that we have REACHED OUR GOAL OF ONE THOUSAND PEACE CRANES FOR JAPAN!!!! Thank you everyone who spent time making cranes and collages.  I will mail the cranes off to Japan next week and include all of the collages everyone made.  I will update everyone if there is a response/photos from the Peace Museum.  Please don't mail anymore peace cranes.

A very large box with a GAGGLE of PEACE CRANES landed the other day. Thank you very very much to McFLOOZY (Sue) and her daughter for this enormous contribution to the project!  Next week, I'll have a tally on the number of cranes we have.  This shipment from Sue and others from TicTac and Katerina most likely will put us at or over 1000 peace cranes!  If people in the group are still interested in sending cranes, please feel free to do so.

There were so many beautiful collages that people made with peace cranes that I'm planning to put their images on a CD which will be available to anyone in the group who would like to have one.  I'll have more details after New Year's.

If anyone in the group would like me to include a jpg image of themselves in the box that is going to Japan with the peace cranes, please send me a message here at IUOMA and I will give you my email address so you can send it to me.  I will print it and make sure it is put in the box when I send it out.

Katerina - thank you for these last peace cranes you made, I will look forward to their arrival!
