Create Columbia presents

The Annual International Postcard Art Invitational

As in previous years, artists from around the world working in most any medium are invited to create a 2-dimensional work in the form of a postcard—a drawing, painting, collage, photograph, etc—so long as it can be mailed through the postal service. Do not mail your postcards using an envelope.

Your submissions will be bid upon and sold during a fundraiser to benefit the general operating costs of Create Columbia, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the arts in Columbia, Pennsylvania.

Postcards will be exhibited at the National Watch & Clock Museum in Columbia where visitors will be invited to bid for their favorites during a silent auction reception (minimum starting bid of $10).

Carefully read these submission guidelines:

1. Submissions must be original work created by the person mailing the postcard art.
2. Postcards must be sent via postal service (as a postcard) and should not be contained within an envelope.
3. Standard postcard size is 4.25” X 6” with a current postage rate of .53 cents. Larger postcards will require more postage. Check with your local post office.
4. The suggested theme,’Time Flies,’ is encouraged but not mandatory.
5. Two submissions are allowed per artist.
6. There is no entry fee.
7. There are no monetary awards.
8. Submissions can not be returned.
9. Postcards should contain the name of the artist and country of origin. A website or social media link are optional.
10. Deadline for submissions is August 7, 2024.

Within a week of the event’s completion, all submissions will be posted on the Create Columbia Facebook page.

A closing reception and postcard art silent auction will be held Saturday, August 31, 2024 beginning at 2pm and ending promptly at 4 pm.
