I just asked the question here in public because I don't publicize private e-mails. That explains the question. It was for others to read as well. It is that simple.

a simple answer - which i think i gave you already.

yes. i am typing this in China, right now. technically i am in Songjiang. it's the equivalent of a suburb to downtown Shanghai. this weekend i will be in Shanghai.

Rudd, i don't understand this. i think the explanation i provided was adequate to alleviate suspicion. i do not know how i gave the impression that i was Chinese, nor did i intend to. i have stated elsewhere on IUOMA that i am a foreigner here. i do not know why my being in China is such a dubious issue.

An intereresting question for ejva nsva indeed; are you currently (now) in Shanghai or not? A simple question.

ejva - maybe you're ray johnson?  why don't you just take a picture of yourself standing next to a Shanghai landmark so that everyone's doubts will be satisfied.  another tale of shanghaied in shanghai!

evidence indicates that my website was bought in the USA.

i don't often live on my website.

face. residence permit.scanner. 9:16 PM, Songjiang China. taking requests for limited-edition postcards.

a little befuddled about why anyone would cast aspersions on this issue. either there's something to be gained by faking a residence in China (??) or i'm Andy Kaufman.

I have received mail-art from ejva-nsva. I assumed I was receiving from a person who lived in China. The mail-art was made to appear as if it were mailed from. China. Evidence indiicates ejva-nsva lives in the U.S. I agree with Angie. This is strange.

Well, this clears up what I thought was happening. An american with a chinese mail address. That surely can happen.

americans can go to China.

Rudd, i've messaged you.

The latest news is quite strange. On the IUOMA-platform there are two mail-artists active who claim to come from Shanghai, China. They both have websites that I reserached and are hosted and paid for inside the USA. So I suspect these artists are USA-based (or maybe the same person?) and play the role of Chinese Mail-Artist. I will research this more and confronted both members of the IUOMA that I discovered their websites are based in the USA.

On Internet anybody can take the identity they choose. Only proper research shows the basis of the work. An example. On www.whois.com you can check on whose name a website is hosted. Searching on enja:nsva's website called: http://songshi.info I discover that it is based in Georgia, USA, with address and phonenumber of the artists building the website. Judging the texts on the website, it must be an american artist.

More mail-artists received mail-art from china. So somehow this american can go to china, or mail to china and get things to us that way.

So we are warned that mail-art in china isn't that easy. There are a lot of artists in china for sure. But I now need more proof for believing someone actually comes from China.
