Eco-Asemics for Mail-Artists - Gallery & Discussion

Eco-Asemics is a term used to describe Asemic Writing found in asemic-suggestive shapes in the natural environment. Artists exploring Eco-Asemics often use photographs; however, incorporation in art could be done in numerous ways. The potential for Haptic-Eco-Asemics is vast. Eco-Asemics might be found in rock formations, sand, trees and plants - anywhere that your mind can locate potential signs, symbols, and structures in nature. Eco-Asemics is somewhat different from human-made asemic writing taken from environments created or altered by people (found art - Asemic Trashpo), but there certainly is overlap.

Taughannock Falls, Cayuga Lake, New York - Although completely natural, some of the early settles believed these were rock inscriptions.

Hi Snooks, yes you can swim there. Some of them are parks and some of them are just places you find hiking in the woods. C'mon - show us some Asemic Writing from Lake Michigan (you're on Lake Michigan, right?) The Great Lakes are incredible.

Snooker, I like the breakwater chunk w/grass - interesting organic/inorganic food for thought. Also - good point about micro and macro shots. With the cliff shots I posted - was fascinated by the lines the rock strata make - they look like lines of text to me. Then there are the natural rectangular shapes that look like pages or paragraphs - you know I'm a nut for structure.
