DESCRIPTION
The theme for this mailart call is Wild Flowers and will be included with the “Flower Fields” art exhibit by Cindy Magee (C.Lou) in the month of May 2024 at the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE:
The exhibit purpose is to create a show to educate and participants about Louisiana native wild flowers and also where everyone can participate, regardless of their art experience – includes all ages and creative abilities! Must have postage directly on the address side of the postcard (which can also have art).
MailArt will only be accepted through the submission address

Please do not include a return address if you don’t want your mailing address publicly displayed. Be sure to include your social media handle if you would like to share it publicly. All artworks should be original, no photocopies (unless used as collage), and suitable for families and children. No racism, nudity, or violence.
*Please note: This will be a fundraiser for the museum by selling the MailArt. By sending your MailArt to the show you are agreeing to give your art to LSEM to help the museum. Unsold Mailart will be part of the museum collection.

Great idea! I left my typical English lawn go wild last spring in front of the house, to the disgust of one neighbour but supported by the other. I have left all my 'weeds' alone in my tiny back garden for years so this is great!

This call violates the rules of  MAIL ART which is NO SALES!

That is right, sorry I did support it. I shall not contribute. One suggestion, selling the art is wrong but perhaps an entry fee? Or putting a collecting box for the charity at the exit?

The museum can make postcards with the art and put them for sale in their shop since we give them the right to use it for their fundraising effort, but requesting originals and then selling them to the public will be wrong. As artists, we will benefit more if the originals are kept in the museum as part of their collection. I like the call, but I think this decision to sell the original violates Mail Art's rules.
