This is a mail art call to celebrate my carving friend Berti's 80th birthday.  5 years ago, when my artist Mom turned 80, she asked 'what about when we all turn 80, will there be other shows?'  Well, I certainly hope so!  This one is a special one, also because it's on November 1st (All Saint's Day) between two of my favorite holidays Halloween (Oct 31st) and All Souls Day or Day of the Dead (Nov 2nd).

Please send mail art on the theme of artists in their wisdom and experience as they get older, the things they/we all face as they confront the unknown time ahead, and/or Halloween, All Saints Day, All Souls Day/Day of the Dead to:

Another Artist Turns 80
c/o Carla Cryptic
PO Box 1274
Berkeley, CA  94701

Contact me with any questions at: carlacryptic at yahoo.com (replace the 'at' with '@' and take out the spaces).

Any art is welcome but for ease of scanning, I'd love it if most things were 8 x 10 inches or smaller.  I'll accept everything, though, and make a documentation which will go out in the mail.  Please include your email address if you would like notification of when the online documentation is available for viewing!

Deadline: Whenever it reaches me but her b-day is on November 1st so anything which arrives by October 25th will reach her by her birthday...

Please come have a look at the An Artist Turns 80 webpages:

then click on the An Artist Turns 80 tab.

You can also see some of my Day of the Dead mail art show there if you click on that tab.  This show will be a combination of both and totally different also!  ;)
