an art project with contemporary artists from all over the world and ... with YOU!

At the end of the last century, a young German, then a student of fine arts, sent a drawing to the MoMA, Museum of Modern Art in New York. The drawing was simple, on an A4 sheet, spontaneous and direct. In the cover letter, the student offered his drawing to the museum as a document of contemporary art history, for the archive. It should be a contribution to and evidence of current contemporary art in Europe and as such find its place in the Museum of Modern Art collections. The people in charge of the museum responded very kindly and sent the artwork back. Unfortunately, their archive does not allow for storage. But the young contemporary artist was wished all the best on his creative path. The drawing, the artists letter, the reply from the museums management... its all together in a showcase at the Museum of Contemporary Art MAMAC in Nice.

The artists name is Josef Beuys.

Now the German-Spanish contemporary artist Juan Petry is setting out again and invites YOU to send YOUR work of art to the Museum of Modern Art in New York, this time as part of a great international social sculpture. And youre in!

in a way yes. your question is entering the MoMA as a gift for staff member for Christmas and therefor it becomes part of the bigger story. i see it as a brave and honest contribution to your inspirering art works in the field of mail art.

like any other of my art works this secret monk - project is as well a social sculpture. the main aspect is communication with others. for sure you have some friends and you could invite them for a nice dinner and you could show them the post card and you will solve it with them with pleasure and fun.

i feel all my life i am the collection of the skills of the "other" and they act like a medium throughout me. so please see it as an invitation to gather with friends and upcoming friends.

personaly i have not the feeling that i would solve anything, but i am present to enjoy the process around me.

if the universe have other plans come to the house of the dragon in spain and do nothing, just sit on the terrasse, enjoy the view of the ocean and start to receive the message.
