Trucked in by Karen Champlin, USA--Maladaptive vs. Well-Adjusted Clowns

Many people don't like clowns--maybe it's the extreme features painted on their faces, but I'm guessing it's probably because they can't predict what the clowns will do next--clown behavior is too loose, too sudden, and too impromptu, which is exactly why we need them. Everyone should have a clown in his or her life, that someone who reminds you not to take yourself or anything you do too seriously, someone who gives into impulses and invites you to do the same, that someone who thinks "Off Scene" as Herr Erni would put it. I love this piece, Karen. Thank you!

Very cool mail and blog! I don't like clowns as such, but according to your definition of a clown, yes, I think I have several of those in my life, a lot of them at IUOMA :-))
