"The Glory of MinXus" - 1st MinXus Refrigerator Exhibition - Wakoshi, May 11th 2012

Le Manoir aux Visons is very happy to answer Dark wall's call for the first MinXus-LynXus performance score. The exhibition took place here in Wakoshi at the Manoir, May 11th 2012, 7.15pm-7.30pm local time and was a flying success. At least in my mind :-)) As a curator, I wanted to focus on classic pieces I consider essential in the evolution and history of MinXus. They will be presented in chronological order of reception.

1) Boy's day - from RCBz (November 2010)

Setting the standards of aesthetics, sleekness, the care for details, and the love of a dark twist.

2) Blisspo - from De Villo Sloan (January 2011)

Asemic writing and vispo as essential elements of MinXus art. And the highly symbolic feet, of course...

3) Le Saut dans le Vide - from Bifidus Jones (February 2011)

The leap in the void, fantastic card that really got holism to kick off.

4) Stations of the Cross, part 5, The Desolation Angel in the Ruined Theater of Fluxus - from Dark wall (March 2011)

Poetry through vispo epics, adventures in a world of fantasy (he won't like me saying this) and magic. Without Dark wall no Manoir aux Visons.

5) Let them eat biscuit - from Grigori Antonin (April 2011)

Marie-Antonette, let them eat aesthetics... MinXus would not be the same without Grigori.

6) Gerald - from Cheryl Penn (July 2011)

Gerald is a permanent member of the fridge collection. He has been sent to help me with chores like onion chopping and the such, and is doing a fab job.

7) What? Why? No! - from Svenja Wahl (August 2011)

The successful combination of text and photography/image in visual poetry.

8) That wooden doll - from Diane Keys (November 2011)

Coat and fur. MinXus and Trashpo can never be completey dissociated.

9) Ignore this, it's just a fridge magnet from Switzerland (2010 I think)

Rare relics were on display in Greek Fridge Exhibit!

One and only mail art by DVS (ever received in Greece so far)

was sandwiched between a Grigori above

and a Marie "happy stick"(or book marker) below!

Rare MinXus Moment indeed!

Thanks to Katerina for locating an Event Score! It was something that really worked. Angie Cope had the courage to start by posting her Wisconsin-size fridge contents. Then DK posted hers, which was total D-Khaos & then it took off. Yip, great performance from multiple locations. If you had planned it, you could also have guests come in to see the exhibit in your kitchen.

I knew it was something from David Lynch, just couldn't place it. Those zig-zag tiles are fantastic. His earlier Eraserhead (in b&w) has a similar theater scene w/ the blond woman singing "In heaven, everything's alright" & I got stuck on that.

So Mick Ronson had himself surgically altered to be a midget? Well, that's another theory. David Lynch was driving the red porsche? Hm...

It's the dancing dwarf from Twin Peaks aka Mick Ronson

WTF is that? A dwarf John Cage impersonator?
