Sub-Real Alchemy (David Aponte) sent a mail art card with map...

Oh, yes, this is an interesting beauty of a mail art card.

David Aponte created a very minimal piece actually,

but by adding the map fragment, got my curiosity up as to its location:

"Lottsville"...and "Bear Lake" , that's PA and right near the border with the state of New York!

Nice stamping on the flip side, too:

Thank you David!

I love using maps... I was always good with them... one learns a lot about a culture and history based on looking at maps...

Google maps knows ALL :-)

I so enjoy hunting up the whereabouts of map fragments.

Very nice mail art indeed, David!

I'll confirm that, Jim. Western NY at the PA border. North of that is Buffalo. These days Jamestown likes to claim Natalie Merchant (10,ooo Maniacs) as well as Lucille Ball. Nice m-a too, BTW IMHO.

The map is indeed a section of the New York/Pennsylvania State line - kind of SSE of Buffalo.  Lake Chautauqua, Jamestown (Lucille Ball's hometown) &  the Allegany Indian Reservation give it away..at least for this former Upstate New Yorker...
