Reconstituted Mail Art from Richard Canard

This weird doll has nothing to do with this post. I just thought it was cool. I sent out some mail art. It was returned to me chopped in half. This did not bother me as I am happy for whatever alteration people want to make on the art I send, including tossing it in the bin. But I had posed the question to Richard if this was a good art concept or just plain rude? I have also received another piece of art sent to this person, then sent to me chopped in half. I then, sent both chopped pieces to Richard with an explanation. he then sent my original piece back to me taped together and altered. Well, I totally love the result and the ridiculous nature of this whole mail art dialogue. I'm thinking of doing a Cheryl Penn and putting the whole thing in the blender and making it into pulp. This art must live on, although it probably shouldn't. Richard==you keep me on my toes and your words of wisdom make me smile.

I think his answer was: BOTH. That or NEITHER. Honestly I can't tell. His response was to patch up my mail art--which was quite conceptual AND polite. DON'T know why I'm capitalizing.

You do need to remember "cut-ups" & various kinds of word collages are all a part of this. That's all I can think of.

And Mr. D-Kanard is actually using D-Kult stamps?
