RECEIVED: Clearly Jen Staggs Is Now A Member of the Postage Due Club (Dallas, Texas, USA)

Mail-art by IUOMA member Jen Staggs (Dallas, Texas, USA)

May 5, 2010 - Have you ever fallen into some kind of network black hole with a mail-art friend? This has been happening to me and Jen Staggs, probably for two months. This great concept piece - a clear piece of plastic - finally arrived for real for sure a long time after I had sent her a message saying I sure wish I had one of these for my collection.

Something happened in the postal system, beyond my usual disorientation and disorganization or any error on Jen's part. I clearly look at the postage due stickers as contributing to making this a real piece of interactive mail-art. So this turned out very well.

Some time ago I did start my Postage Due Club, and this qualifies Jen for membership. She joins luminaries such as Diane Keys in this elite and exclusive group. I think "No po" will have to represent "No postage" in this case.

But seriously Jen, thanks and I hope the cosmic logjam that has been messing up our exchanges has been loosened.

That's a great transparent plastic piece of NO poetry, Jen. Can't be sent here in Greece because we don't have self-stick stamps like the US or France or where ever...maybe someone pealed away the sticky stamp??? Still a great piece, now with the Nopo elements, finger and all. Nopo....hmmmm, time to make a new badge. It has not been in my train of thought, must work on that:

Jen's transparent cards are great! I hate the pointy finger though, it's always bad omen. I once had one envelope returned with that pointy finger, for insufficient postage. Which was a big lie. Some of the stamps fell off the envelope, and besides, it had already made it to the USA. I re-sent it about 3 months ago and have had no news since then. Sad...

Nopo is an excellent concept, and we'll add it to our list of mail-art terms. It fits right in with mail-art holes and all these absence ideas. Does the pointing finger mean it went back to TX? Anyway, it arrived. Who knows where it went?

PS: I love cosmic logjam on toast.

I know! That's why I wanted it so badly. I suppose it was worth the 44 cents. I just keep a running tab for what DK owes ;))

HA!  Well, "No Po" was supposed to mean "No Poetry", and since it barely arrived, it really was in limbo, the void, the mail ether,  it actually didn't exist to you for some time.  Just adding to the Haptic Po, Sand Po schemes.  Now NoPo is multi-purpose.  I'm glad it finally arrived-  I thought I was cursed!
