RECEIVED: Clearly Jen Staggs Is Now A Member of the Postage Due Club (Dallas, Texas, USA)

Mail-art by IUOMA member Jen Staggs (Dallas, Texas, USA)

May 5, 2010 - Have you ever fallen into some kind of network black hole with a mail-art friend? This has been happening to me and Jen Staggs, probably for two months. This great concept piece - a clear piece of plastic - finally arrived for real for sure a long time after I had sent her a message saying I sure wish I had one of these for my collection.

Something happened in the postal system, beyond my usual disorientation and disorganization or any error on Jen's part. I clearly look at the postage due stickers as contributing to making this a real piece of interactive mail-art. So this turned out very well.

Some time ago I did start my Postage Due Club, and this qualifies Jen for membership. She joins luminaries such as Diane Keys in this elite and exclusive group. I think "No po" will have to represent "No postage" in this case.

But seriously Jen, thanks and I hope the cosmic logjam that has been messing up our exchanges has been loosened.

You can set your watch by that, Marie. Right now, it's more about Jen-der.

And I guess there will be a surge of Ho Ho Ho Po sometime around Christmas.

DK - you're M.O.P. You don't take tests. Didn't this piece turn out to be a real TroJen Horse? Tro-Ho

or a sub-Jenre?

I am trying to keep track of these terms and what they mean using a flowchart, although an alphabetical lexicon is probably the best end result. Yes, there will have to be sub and sub-genres. For instance, Sandpo is a subgenre of Haptic Poetry (but crosses into other areas). And yes, Jen deserves 10xkudos for creating a concept piece that would spark all these ideas.

The consensus seems to be Nopo and Hopo have to be recognized terms. I'm going to add Hojo - is that Howard Johnson - Ray's brother?

And here I sit in East Po-Dunk. Skybridge, you're absolutely shining today. DK - in that pic with the D-Kake, do you really have a roadkill jacket?
