RECEIVED: Car Seat Treasure - Archeo-Mail-Art from Angie & Snooker (Port Washington, Wisconsin, USA)

Mail-art by IUOMA members Angie & Snooker the Amazing Haptic Mail-Art Dog (Port Washington, Wisconsin, USA)

July 6, 2011 - There was a minor glitch - overblown! - about mail-art lost & found under my car seat in the spring. One TREASURE is this beautiful piece by Angie & Snooker that is very special to me. The main image is a prehistoric, Native American clay vessel reconstructed from potsherds. I think archaeological and antiquarian texts are an excellent place to find mail-art material. Bifidus Jones (Minnesota) has done some wonderful work in this area. Angie's piece has great personal meaning for me. You can, maybe, detect a bit of rain damage on the reverse, which I think makes this authentic mail-art:

Many thanks Angie and Snooky! I am thrilled we are doing the Asemics 16 project together. I look forward to many more exchanges!

Car seat problem solved, but the Simba threat is still hanging over our heads...

So,Sloan,  we address our mail art to you:

Under-Car-Seat P.O.Box1314?

You didn't happen to find any missing mail art from Greece during that excavation, did you?

Angie...great piece, love the pot! What a find!!! xx

Angie, you know how much I value this piece - given some interests we have in common that I won't bore people about. Some of us dig potsherds and old maps. Takes all kinds. This was one of the few pieces that was actually involved in the black hole under the car seat incident that David Stafford described so well. The main image of the Mississippian (?) pot is intact. Yip, there was some water damage on other parts. Can't thank you enough for this.

I deleted the comment here. He wants to know what kind of shoes you are wearing, if you must know. I wouldn't engage if I were you.
