Dear friends,
My Facebook account [Илья Семененко-Басин] is banned. I didn't do anything illegal. The suspicions arose in connection with the posting of a large number of photos on Saturday, February 15. These photos show the works of art I received. I just wanted to thank the artists who sent me mail.
They think I'm a political agitator or a fraud... In the future, I will not be able to post so many photos on the Internet, they attract attention and arouse suspicion.
I wrote a complaint to the administrators. If my account is ever unblocked, I will limit myself to brief thanks to the authors. Most of the time, we'll use the old communications equipment that Ray Johnson left us. Envelope, glue, paper, postage stamps... Mailbox... We will correspond as in the good old days, when this evil Facebook was not born yet.
Best wishes,
Ilya Semenenko-Basin

So sorry you have been censored/blocked by FB but I’m glad we will continue to see each other in the mail. I prefer stamps and postal communication anyway. You contribute so much to the mail art community Ilya, we all appreciate you!
analog is the way to go...paper,stamps...it's all good!
I'm sorry this happened, Ilya. I'll miss your postings on Facebook. Take care and I'll see you in the mail!
That is one of the reasons why I deleted my FB account some years ago. I wish many more would do so...
Best of luck,
Carien
Ilya, I am very sorry for you. You are doing great work for international mail art.
You are not alone. Facebook is very repressive. Many mail artists are censored or expelled (sent to FB jail) simply for posting pics of mail art.
My new mail art blog (Glam Faction) is banned by Facebook due to an anonymous complaint. I am not able to explain myself or to know specifics of the charges against me.
GOOD NEWS FOR ARTISTS - there are many places on the internet that are still free.
IUOMA-Ning is almost entirely free of censorship.
Even Twitter is somewhat OK.
We must look for the safe places.
Please do not be disappointed by Facebook. It is a very bad place.
Regards, DVS
