Dang. Just... dang. While I'm not one for pole-vaulting all over the bohemian map, your self-answered question intrigues me. The act of emulating societies, trends, and so called heroes bores me to tears. Those whom you mention did their own thing inspired by those who laid the groundwork previously. All of us are much better off doing our own thing, and having our own original thoughts based on what moves us to action. In essence, utilizing the mails of the world as an art gallery is fun. I have been having great fun at this. Definitions for what is fun has the potential to suck the joy out of the act of creating by the creator, who is simply doing their own thing.
Hey, that was interesting. My question is… do you consider "Marginals" to be a monicker of historical origins? IOW, like Hippies, or Dadaists, etc. where we can admire and emulate those heroes, but whom are attached to a rather specific period and socially-inspired time? (Not to say that social trends or fiascos don't recur or repeat themselves..and that those art styles or lifestyle types can't be relevant in the present…)
