The Latvian Postal Service and Latvia's most famous chocolate company, Laima have joined forces and designed a range of chocolate blocks to be sent anywhere in the world. It's double wrapped and this one made it to Australia in perfect condition. The Post even subsidises the cost of sending, how sweet.

I kept the kids home from trick or treating to translate this amazing song last night. This is what several hours of work has resulted in: Plunksis goes your Heart   Gily ak Goly ak es milu savu Lolly. I am cancelling all plans for the weekend to continue this project.

Gee, that's so sad, Val. Thankfully Diane has been having Latvian lessons and she'll be able to translate that song for you, and, yes, I think it will sound better.

Oh dear! My heart has just gone plop.

Do you know this Lollipop song? (It probably sounds better in Latvian)

"When You Come To The End Of A Lollipop,

To The End, To The End, Of A Lollipop,

When You Come To The End Of A Lollipop,

 Plop Goes Your Heart!

Gilly Oh Golly, Oh I Love My Lolly,

Down To The Very Last Lick,

But When You Are Through With It,

What Can You Do With It,

All You Have Left Is The Stick.

When You Come To The End Of A Lollipop,

To The End, To The End, Of A Lollipop,

When You Come To The End Of A Lollipop,

Plop Goes Your Heart!

Gilly Oh Golly, Oh I Love My Lolly,

Come Winter And Summer And Spring.

But When You Are Done It's About As Much Fun,

As A Yoyo Without Any String.

When You Come To The End Of A Lollipop,

To The End, To The End, Of A Lollipop,

When You Come To The End Of A Lollipop,

Plop Goes Your Heart!

Plop Goes Your Heart!"

I ATE IT!! That's the chorus.

Yeah, DK, I wonder how many of these disappear along the way!

The Postal Waitapinga Chant goes something like this:

'I will not eat it.

I WILL not eat it.

I will NOT eat it.

I will not EAT it.

I will not eat IT.

I will send it to Val instead'

(The Post Office is still working on the chrous, and will supply the words and chords soon)

how cool is that!! I can imagine the inner struggle of any postman(woman)that delivers it and is addicted to chocolate "I will NOT eat it...I will NOT eat it"

As you are a lover of Mail Art and chocolate, and, of course ME, I'm sure that eventually I will be the lucky recipient of it.

Merci beaucoup in advance

This was actually sent to my mum anonymously, Val! As a lover of Mail Art and chocolate, she passed it on to me!!

As posted by Latvia's Most Famous Emigrée Mail Artist (whom, I am sure, will now send me some famous Latvian chocolate)
