Ga-ga for Gü's Great Shakespearean Greeting

I'm a bit tardy adding my shower of applause that is deserved of Gina Ulgen for her magnificent Shakespearean mailing. What was it that Shakespeare said about lateness?

"Better three hours too soon than a minute too late."

Oh...wait. That doesn't really describe me. I'm definitely a minute (or more) late with my praise... Perhaps Dr. Suess can better represent my predicament...

"How did it get so late so soon?
It's night before it's afternoon.
December is here before its June.
My goodness how the time has flewn.
How did it get so late so soon? "

...That's better.

Well, my tardiness certainly does not reflect the huge admiration I feel for this mailing project. One benefit from seeing all the other recipients' blogs thus far and the photos of their own package materials was realizing HOW MUCH DETAIL Gina put into these Shakespearean mailings...all of them were individuated in subtle and delightful ways. It seems all the lucky recipients of Gina's project received SIMILAR items, but altered with subtle humor. Note the Richard Burton postcard that was in my envelope...

Did ya notice that there?? A BALL OF YARN instead of Yorick's skull from Hamlet's famous soliloquy.

BRILLIANT.

I honestly don't know how Gina got her hands on so much Shakespeare ephemera...especially for that many different mail friends! She must have been collecting these things for eons!! The United States postage stamp at the top of this blog intrigued me to no end...I had never seen it before, and it made me look up the philatelic information about it. And it's uncancelled/mint condition!

And can we just admit it here?... This has to be the best wash tape EVER...

I'm entirely grateful that I made the cut for this mailing's address list. What creativity! Thank you Gü!!!

I almost didn't see this blog, thank you so much Thom for your delightful response.

It did feel as though I was curating the inside of an envelope and very fun to do and track down items. The pencils are one offs I had those sayings engraved for the project and typed/stamped the Bard stickers myself. I would love to have been able to make those as stamps. So glad you enjoyed it and how fitting that I had made a card with a ball of wool. Speaking of which, I've just received your fabulous knitted envelope, I will share with all soon. Thank you!!
