Post card from Richard C.

Richard starts off by saying, "When one artist imitates another it only proves the world is in need of one less artist." I'm figuring this is in response to the post card I mailed him weeks before (see below).

Post card to Richard C. from me. I wrote: "A copycat made this! JBL

On my card to Richard C. I wrote: "Imitation is...the sincerest form of flattery that MEDIOCRITY can pay to GREATNESS. ~ Oscar Wilde"

Richard's post card includes other great wisdom:

"The most alarming aspect for me concerning reaching old age is the realization that it won't last very long."

"The visual artist has much potential in life. There are countless opportunities for discovery, creativity, fame, fortune & even admiration. If none of that ever seems to materialize, one can always claim to be a mail artist."

"A mail artist is someone who creates hundreds of postcards & sends them thousands of miles away just so he/she can check his/her own mailbox."

Thanks so much, Richard C.
