I got this mail. I'm starin' at the address totally freaked. "Why did I send myself mail?.....and what does Jon have to do with it?" Okay, in my defense. I'm on more drugs than most of you have tubes of paint (no, just 8). But it all made sense (thank God) when I turned it over. It was created from my Bad art envelope. Is this kid clever or what!

Dear Karen, Far be it from me to comment on why you have Jon Foster so firmly fixed in your mind (suggestions: stop sniffing paint and/or see an analyst). As to why you are sending mail to yourself, I recently chanced upon these words of wisdom by the English author Lynne Truss:
"I can't remember the last time I sent a letter to myself. Generally, the act of auto-mailing is committed only a) if you are entirely friendless, but pathetically want to pretend otherwise; b) in quite complicated legal circumstances, when a sealed, registered self-sent envelope can be used as proof of dating; or c) by mistake, when drunk."
The most relevant one for you seems to be c)!

I'm glad that you got it and I was even happier to see how you would respond. I didn't want you do get offended but as soon as I open the envelope I said to myself, "I'm going to cut this up" and I did.

Workin' on the next batch right now...actually I'm sending out some of my students work as soon as I get all of them back.
