Well, I didn't want to say that:) But then I've never heard of sand hardening. Sand is more like rock but then rock is formed from dirt so I don't know. Apparently American sand can flow freely through the USPS. I had a friend fedex me some Hawaii beach sand once and it came without a problem.

I'm more concerned about the radiation. Maybe that hardened it? I read this article - I'm pretty sure by Cracker Jack Kid - that talked about how dirt is very difficult to get through customs. I can understand. Is sand dirt?

I originally made this for Marcela's sand book, but decided it was risky trying to get it through customs. Mim had a connection to foster beach and I used to live in walking distance of it. That's cool you have Japanese beach sand. wonder how it hardened? Must have had clay at the bottom of the beach or something.

wow - DK does sandpo. Marie Wintzer sent me beach sand from Japan, but it was hardening into concrete. This piece captures the dry fluidity of sand.
