Later this month, we enter the Year of the Fire Horse, and I for one, am stoked!

Trash Bubbles: A Poetic Exploration of Trash will reopen at the Beaver Falls Film Festival Gallery Show on April 24, 2026, to support their theme of Environmental Resilience.

Many of you participated in the mail art call for Trash Bubbles back in 2017-2018 when Awesome Pittsburgh recognized my work with a grant to create an exhibit of Trash Bubbles to include those of other artists. https://awesomepgh.com/2017/12/07/award-69-trash-bubbles/

Trash Bubbles: A Poetic Exploration of Trash debuted at the Center for Creative Reuse in Pittsburgh in 2019.

While the core exhibit remains in tact, it will be updated and I hope, expanded.

This is your call to create and submit a Trash Bubble of your own for inclusion in the upcoming exhibit.

We would appreciate more international engagement and welcome submissions from outside the US.

Just grab any consumer packaging headed for the trash…

And fill it with trashy bits that tell a story, creating a cohesive whole. The story is the point. You can be vague or use words to help convey your meaning.
