Over the last few months I've blogged about various faux postage trial runs (mostly re. perforations & paper types). My latest post gives details of a clever new trick shared by Demon Kitty Designs, to achieve the most realistic perforations for your faux postage…

I had lots of great comments in response to my 'airmail letter' style handwoven postcards recently (see earlier blog posts). If you want to learn how to weave your own, please check out the latest issue of the UK's Crafty magazine where you will find a handwoven postcard tutorial by my very own self! Find out more about…

This is (my) Handwoven Postcard #2 - I'm currently waiting to see how it survives its journey through the Royal Mail, after HP#1 survived remarkably unscathed.
I launched the little-participated Handwoven Postcard Project back in 2009, and have recently decided it's time to…

I've been making zines & upcycled badges from used, bird-themed postage stamps this year, after my dad was diagnosed and passed away from bowel cancer. Proceeds from items sold are going to a bowel cancer awareness charity. This is a new batch of badges I have made from a sheet of used stamps which my dad…

I first hosted Friends & Faux back in 2010 and it was an awesomely fun project to co-ordinate. The project postcards feature ‘gallery’ spaces for 8 artistamps/faux postage stamps which are filled up as they are passed from one mail artist to the next before the completed card finally returns home. I decided it was time for this project to live again! For full details of…

As April is bowel cancer awareness month, I was keen to get the first issue of the Project Dissimulation zine completed in time for April – so keen that I managed to be finished early! So far I have completed Volume I of the zine, a matching Project Dissimulation badge (I will create a new badge design for each issue, so they can be collected!), and bird badges made from upcycled postage stamps for anyone who would like a completely individual…

One of my oldest zine ideas (first featured in a now obsolete zine about postcards called PostScript) has been recycled into a new looseleaf zine: The Postcard Recycling Kit. Includes crafty postcard projects as well as postcard labels to upcycle any artwork, waste cardstock, or any other item you choose! More pics & further info…

Launched February 2013, this project is a call for used postage stamps and/or faux postage/artistamps featuring images of birds. I'll be collating submissions into a zine (or series of zines) and possibly other craft items, then selling all items in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support. My dad has recently been diagnosed with bowel cancer and as I do not live very close to home, this is the best way I could…

Just (admittedly belatedly) added a new Christmas Card design to my E.T.Printworks range. It commemorate the Festive FAYC postage stamp design which has adorned most of my outgoing mail for the last few weeks. The card…

I pre-launched The Achievement Badge Project for members of the TangleClub, at the end of July. Here is the first entry received, courtesy of Kateri Wilson-Whalley, whose achievement was 'Winging it' at a recent training session for working with young people.

I've been neglecting this site (sorry!) but am going to try harder to keep up to date. Photos need updating, too... :S
The Friends & Faux project is now closed, and updates/results so far can be tracked on my blog: http://tanglecrafts.wordpress.com/mailart/friends-faux/postcard-log/
The Going Postal project ended almost exactly a year ago, and a zine is available showcasing…

Please check out 'My Photos' for the newly uploaded photos of the first two Friends & Faux postcards to safely return home! Curious that they should both arrive on the same day, but I am very impressed that they have both made it home so quickly. FF#1 departed on April 19th (despite date stamp) and FF#8 on April 16th, so they have made the round trip in less than 3 months! FF#1 travelled from UK to Australia to UK to USA to Argentina back to UK. FF#8 is more of a mystery, and the only…

I have been giving this some thought, and I think that mail art might actually be a genre within which the boundaries between art and craft are so blurred that they actually cease to matter/exist at all (stamp-carving - indisputably a craft - is, after all, one of the mainstays of the mail art movement). For example, a piece of cross stitch that has been stamped, addressed and mailed holds just as much weight, in the mail art world, as an oil-painted envelope. This thought makes me happy,…
