that is fantastic news! i have an unabridged Grey's Anatomy in my house that i long to cannibalize, but i cant bring myself to do it. even worse, is that my housemate is a graphic designer, so she has all these amazing books full of weirdness that she gets anxious about my being too near. very near to my house is a library bookstore that i have been meaning to get back to, but i have been waylaid multiple times already. maybe this will give me a shove in that direction....

Jackie, I went to the local library book sale yesterday and bought BAGS of books, one with hot air balloons and dirigibles! A few old medical books (my faves) and old science books. And a heavy tome of Microstructures of Industrial Alloys. (I'm drooling!!) All soooooo interesting....I'll try to get something out for you this week!

thank you! i dont actually know if its a dirigible or not, but i can pretend. there is a place near where i live that sells all sorts of old odds and ends, and i found a set of these old 'technological men's magazines' from the 1950s; an era where people apparently followed complex instructions from magazines with no tools whatsoever to build something you arent quite sure of. lucky for us modern-types, we have a collection of singular allen wrenches that come with our Ikea furniture, so i use the magazines for letter fodder instead!

I've always wanted to build a dirigible!! Do you have more of those instructions?!!! Nice piece and stampings!
