Obi Wan Kenobi

Obi-Wan Kenobi is a six-part live-action miniseries on Disney+, set in the Star Wars universe. Premiering in May 2022, it takes place 10 years after Revenge of the Sith and nine years before A New Hope. The story follows Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi (played by Ewan McGregor) living in exile on Tatooine, watching over young Luke Skywalker. His quiet life is disrupted when Princess Leia is kidnapped, forcing him on a dangerous mission that brings him face-to-face with his former apprentice turned Sith Lord, Darth Vader (Hayden Christensen).
Directed by Deborah Chow, the series explores Obi-Wan’s internal struggles, the remnants of the Jedi Order under Imperial rule, and introduces new characters like Reva Sevander, an ambitious Inquisitor. It blends action, suspense, and emotional depth, bridging the gap between the prequel and original trilogies. The show received praise for McGregor’s performance, nostalgic Star Wars elements, and its character-driven narrative, earning multiple award nominations including an Emmy nod for Outstanding Limited Series.
