Very amused to see someone from Greenburg, if you go to the PO and look at box 927, I rented that box during my mailart hey day. Top floor on 30 Olive St was a studio that I shared with Zona (aka Ben Banville) and Eelewda (aka Mike Slahetka). My brother is on the conservation (conversation) commision in Gfld. Nice coilages, must be something in the water.

    Dear Michelle,
I was born in Franklin CO hospital on High St on Feb 16, 1954, grad ghs 72, lived in the area (not always in Gfld, sometimes in Maine) until I moved out permanently in 88. I moved south almost 2 yrs ago from Marlborough, Ma. Lots of local history, I had an exhibition at the Museum of Fine arts in Springfield in 85. Enough about me, our paths must have crossed at some point!

    I'm still wondering: Why Greenfield?
  • Peter Dowker

Well.....that's who visits from Greenfield Mass.
Thanks michelle, I'll post it as soon as it arrives. It may take a while for me to reply. The list is long and I'm into other things for the next little while. But I will
    Regards,

Never saw the lollipop trees and I grew up in Gfld in the 60's! My friend Carlo Pittore used to divide hiss time between manhattan and the woods of Maine, once a pretentious NYer ask him what the people of Maine were like and he replied: 'they're phillistines just like every where else." Got it, work in Noho and house in Gfld. Some nice places on Highland Ave as I remember and a few others. Nice to see that Gfld has a collagist of your quality. Do you know of Bernard Banville in Shelburne Falls?

Your mailart has arrived and has been posted on my blog.
    Thank you!

He and I confounded 'Nebulism' and to explain it would negate it, so, no you don't need to search him out, in fact, please don't. He's had a few shows around the area and thought you may have attended.

    Hi Michelle!
Nice to meet you. Thanks for the comment to “Für Peter”. Yes, the memories. This morning I had the chance to see some videos of Cabaret Voltaire on YouTube. I know the music but I never had seen a concert or a video of the band. So it was very strange - nostalgic and brand new together.
And today I saw also your collages - very cool. Respect!
Have a nice weekend - Wolfgang.

    Dear Michelle!
Of course, I want to be your friend. I remember Virgin Prunes as a text and as one picture, because we make printing works. And the band played at the “Zeche” in Bochum, a discotheque nearby Dortmund and we worked for them. I thing everybody in Germany knows Nina Hagen - I do it too and I love her.
    See you in the mail!
  • EDMR

Thank you for your comment Michelle! People are usually terrified of my dogbabies. I have plans for some more... And maybe crow babies but that's another story. I find your collages interesting - it's a method I have never really experimented with. Where do you source your images/text? :) ~ Eleanor

"I've been a hoarder, collector all my life."

Coming from three generations of a shop family I really understand that! I never knew the difference between "stock" and "belongings" as a child and therefore got used to keeping everything crammed around me in pristine condition for when it was to be sold... Thus began decades of keeping everything in case it was saleable and eventually usable in an art work. I twice had the honour of going to Robert Opie's museum of packaging/collectables, have you ever heard of him? Your use of food packaging made me think of him. http://www.museumofbrands.com/

    Good day to you! :)
