    Hi Val

Welcome to the Australia Group. We have not been very active as late but I am sure individual members would be pleased to hear from you as I would. I will send you something of my own work and would love a card back sometime. Cheers. Jennyu

  • Jay Block

Glad you got the card.  In a show is cool too.  I currently take care of all the exhibitions and collections of the University... and continue you to study just about everything.

  • xx Jones

Hi Val, thank you for your security protected card and invitation for the exhibition! I wished I could come. I think everybody is secretly hoping for one of you dotty dreamtime pictures, but understandably you are holding back. So well, if you dont sell everything, and are fed up with them sitting around you can always send one my way! But of course ANY mail from you is appreciated!

  • Christine Jones

Don't think I'd be able to make the opening in time - have a drink for me & of course, it'll be a big hit!

  • Christine Jones

Val - I'll send you a piece complete with a copy of the article - that should bring you up to speed on FloodArt - can't believe I've missed sending you something - to be remedied.

  • Keith S. Chambers

Val! Thank you for the card. I love your addition, McGovernment: Now Open Sundays . . . that gave me a good laugh. Somehow Pop-eye doesn't translate too well from Dutch into English. Oh that Wimpy.

  • La Koki

Thanks Val! I will check it out to be part of it!

  • Dimitra Papatheodorou

Thank you, Val for your wishes for Greece and for my exhibition. Several people here think like you but this is not an easy decision to take and without consequences.

    A presto... Dimitra

  • Lorraine Kwan

    Bonjour Val,

    Hi Val

Glad that my 'arte postale' arrived safely. Love your masks. Oh, and thanks for posting the photos of the April exhibition.

Got your card today, thanks so much. At this point I'm about to get settled into the summer activities, one of the main ones is our project. Just got back from Portland OR, started my first day at summer school, and finally setting into a routine. Soon!

  • Raphael'L

Thanks for your card received today ! I would have liked to see "Dreamings & Wanderings" and not just because it was in a cafe !

  • Katie Hone

Heya!!! Thanks for the welcome :D Still working my way round the site although it's very similar in layout to the Art Colony so no doubt I'll work it all out very quickly. Might work on some mail art for you but will get myself acquainted first and take it from there :D I have to be careful not to spend all of my fiancé's money!!

  • elle.mental

Thank you Val for your recent mail! I have been taking a break from mail art (and a lot of other things), to focus on regaining my health. I don't know if you read my blog already, but if you want to know the whole story here is a link to the story on my blog http://artofaletter.blogspot.com/2012/07/it-is-time-for-explanation...

I am doing so much better and life is starting to settle in to a rhythm that allows for me to pursue my interests again. The dragon post cards were the first things I have mailed in a long time. I am hoping that there will be more to come in the near future. I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate your kindness. I haven't been on I.O.U.M.A. in a long time so I didn't see all the nice messages you left me until today. Thanks you! Have s great day! I will be seeing you in the mail! Elle

  • Katie Hone

Thank you for all the comments on my art :P - the robots I think are angry because they working at shifting stuff around... Nah I dunno I just made it up, seemed they had more character. I also forgot to mention why Noodlerabbit... when I was 16 we had a big enormous brown rabbit we called Noodle - t'was meant to be ironic!!! Maybe if you give me a theme I can go ahead and send you a painted/drawn envie... perhaps give me three different themes - one easy - one less so and a really complex one. I like a challenge but also like a choice!!!

  • Maria José Silva - Mizé

Boa tarde Val. Tenho a minha participação feita para Project 9 e não pude enviar pelo correio mais cedo, porque estive doente e hoje aqui é feriado. Posso enviar amanhã em correio azul?

    Obrigada.

    Saudaçoes

    Mizé

Thanks Val. I have lived with FM for more than 20 years... in all that time I have never been pain free. Since I started juicing and eating a vegan diet the pain is gone and I have lots of energy. I am rediscovering what it feels like to be alive! I am one happy camper! But just in case I will practice drawing dragons. You never know when one might come in handy! :)

  • Christine Jones

Hi Val - glad you liked the article - just looked at your site - you are so busy!  Don't know how you fit it all in - who knows we might get over to France one day & I'll be on your doorstep looking for a cuppa!!

  • rinee merritt

Hi Val-thanks for the nice note. I am still not quite sure how things work but I will keep reading. I am excited to be a participant. Thanks again

  • rinee merritt

    Thank you

  • Angenita

Hi Val, Thanks for your welcome. I don't live in Zuid Limburg but in Zuid Holland. Must admit I've never heard of the place you've lived. I can imagine you forget the dutch language when you never use it.

  • Fabiola Porras Cárdenas

    Dear Valentine,

Thanks for your welcome,I have to read of the page IUOMA because I am very new in this, but since I discovered the Art mail I think that I identify with this.

I am toy designer and I have been interested in the art too, I like the water-color and the acrylic one.

I am going to send my art mail, my address: Avenida Coyoacán 1435 G-125 Colonia del valle, CP 03220, Mexico, D.F

     Regards.

  • rinee merritt

Thanks for sharing the cat pics and really like your art work. Looks very much like Australian art to me.

  • rinee merritt

By the way if I mail you something, how do I address your name? I have seen it a couple ways. Is Valentine Mark Herman correct? Thanks-preparing my first official mail art as a member.

  • rinee merritt

Hi again, how do I locate the cat groups. I looked under groups. And also I still can't tell if we are supposed to post the actual part of the item that was stamped by the postal service or the inside if it was a card. Please let me know. Or even let me know if it doesn'tmatter. Thank you

  • rinee merritt

Never mind on the groups Val

    sorry

  • Carina

Hi Val, thanks for your postcard and the Moreno card! Say hello to Bianca...

  • David Talbot

Thanks for the comment, yes I'll send you some of my work, have one on the go for someone on Coursera but as soon as that is done I have an idea for one for you!

  • David Talbot

Oh and the penguin (Tux the Penguin) powered my computer when I got the domain name!

  • Michele K. Henderson

    Thank you Val!

I would LOVE to participate and I will send something out as soon as I get a chance. I am very excited about getting more involved, and honestly, a little intimidated by all this great talent and experience around me, so hearing that I have a mentor makes me so happy! I will read through everything I can and narrow down all the great projects I'd love to take part in. Take care!

    Michele

  • chimerastone

    Hi Val

I am very new to mail art and I am very excited to have found you and your site. I am doing an art course through Cousera and have an assignment on mail art to complete. I will post it when I finish it.

I have already encountered one problem of my own making: I can't remember my password. My computer seems to know it but I worry in case I will need it sometime. Can you let me know who to ask please?

I'm looking forward to the connections IUOMA will provide.

    Cheers

    Michael

    PS

I forgot to explain Coursera and MOOC and took the liberty of lifting a bit of Wikipedia's explanation. I hope that doesn't upset any rules or anyone. Basically there are lots of universities offering a wide range of courses online and all for free. Peers assess rather than tutors/lecturers, hence no cost.

Coursera /kɔrsˈɛrə/ is an educational technology company offering massive open online courses (MOOCs) founded by computer scienceprofessors Andrew Ng and Daphne Koller from Stanford University. Coursera works with universities to make some of their courses available online, and offers courses in engineeringhumanitiesmedicinebiologysocial sciencesmathematicsbusinesscomputer science, and other areas.

    Cheers

    Michael
