1952 (when I sent a "Thankyou for my Birthday Present' to my Grandma, and illustrated it with a little drawing). Since then my Mail Art history has been, well, interesting
So sorry! I haven't posted the photos yet. No Time! today I managed to post my blog with all the artwork that was sitting there for ages. May get down to it later.
Val, 6.27GMT and 217 has arrived. Sheep had made it on to the mailart 365 website yesterday (Thursday) but had forgotten her appointment on iuoma. She's so sorry and hopes that your day will now proceed happily :>)
I just received your wonderful envelope filled with mail art materials. I can not wait to find mail art use for the plastic fork! My boyfriend Mike who owns a record store recognized several of the jazz heads on the concert advertisement. Did you go to the show? I picture you and Oranje whipping around town in nice October weather. Actually, come to think of it, is it Autumn in France?
Thanks so much for taking the time to read my little zine. I have fun writing them even though writing about roadtrips is so cliched. Oh well, if punk rock taught me one thing it was "just to it." Actually, that was Nike but I think the same thing applies in this case.
Not sure where I'm going next year. I think me and the girlfriend are going to hit up some place tropical, which is kind of strange for us since we like cities and what not. I will for sure send you whatever I make next year.
I'm also working on making a very large zine compiling some of my favorite moments from my ten years of blog entries. This one's going to take a while, but I think I'm going to do it. As always, I'll send you this as soon as I finish it, or even start it.
Mark, I just went back over your comments about my father in Vegas...didn't realize the gravity of the situation. Hopefully you excuse my American pigheaded xenophobia on the 4th of July?

Hi Val I received your package it was last week the internet connection is playing up so couldn't reply earlier. I thought you were send me something you made. The mini tags and forks non - English is useful from current project. They are useful for this discovery I'm doing, not actually sure what it is something to do fluxus, spiral energy. Thanks. I'm being bit more productive on mailart side.
Bonsoir Val! Luckily the existence precedes the petrolmaking companies although sometimes they try to tell us something else. I would gladly be sponsored by Renault and deny any kind of impact on my art while driving around under (inside) my berets. The no ice cream sign were placed on the pathwalk into a prehistoric grave here in Sweden. I thought it was funny we are not able to bring the goodies into the "heavenly kingdom". And somewhat disappointed too. What kind of weired icecream incidents have there been in the past years!!?
Glad that you received it. If you ever come through North Carolina I'll have to take you to get some good hush puppies. Not sure if the article said, but they're best dipped into butter. And some people wonder why Americans are so fat?
It sounds like you're having a lovely time in France. Enjoy the good company. I will be meeting a fellow mail artist in a couple of days...more than excited. I've already written 2000 words just about the back and forth. I'll post the encounter later on.
Looks like your birthday was extra fun with Katerina around!!! So glad it was a good one and happy to hear my card made it on the day. Doing pretty good so far, out of 5 cards three landed at their destinations on the actual day, glad yours was one. Now...what to do about the disappearing red bag pic from the Top 5....hmmmm....what to do, what to do?!? Hope you're well! xoxo
Arrived on the day? That's amazing, I thought it'd be late late late. Take it easy tonight at the Primeur, sounds like something I'd drive 8 hours to attend, but not fly for 30. Is flat me going? I'm starting to think, are there 2 of me? In Sigean and Paris? Try to remember something from tonight so you can tell me about it.
No this is not coming from me. I never mail anonymously and also I am NOT a member of a fanclub. I aprreciate RJ, without any doubt, I have a piece by him in my archives but would never call myself a fan. I leave that juvenile boys and girls who wet themselves while seeing The Beatles for instance and like RJ I like the Beatles.
You solved a puzzle for me, Moan Lisa send me art work and I wanted to send something back and I cannot find her page. Do you have her address? Please send it to me.
Hello there, old friend! Sorry I've been away so long. I have finally settled down after moving to Nashville, Tennessee, and I am ready to get back in to art-production. Just wanted to send you an eHug!
Hello there! Posted some pictures of the bookie I made for you. With picture of Liz and Phillip included. Is that what you received? I still don't get it... what did go wrong?
Got your new work in the mail today, thanks. I especially like the Sonic Youth Dirty sticker...how did you know that's my favorite record? In the past year I've seen both Thurston Moore and Lee Renaldo.
Thanks, Val, it is good to be back...and in sunny Greece. We had ALL the weather you could imagine in France, even a horrid Mistral in Avignon! But it was also a fantastic trip and I collected many, many mail art omens along the way :-) I miss beautiful Sigean!
Sorry about that, Lee Renaldo and Thurston Moore are the two guitarists from Sonic Youth. Ain't nothing wrong with Mr. Eddy! Going home soon, and just making a whole bunch of stuff.
I could definately see that being a Dean piece-found on the streets of Paris and glued down with his industrial glue. I'm glad I have not received one of these. I like your quotes--they should be bumper stickers. The dowry expectations have gone down considerably. You have held out so long and they see this as a negotiation tactic. They are only expecting paper products at the moment. No livestock is neccessary. Yuki is getting a bit long in the tooth and they fear she is becoming a spinster (she is 27) and do not want her to end up labeled a 'parasite single'. Please send sturdy paper plates soon! (and yes, that art was God awful. all that was lacking was glitter. I have none.)
Yuki is the fourth from the left in the top row. They hope to have her married and in the u.s. by the New Year. Yuki does not like shopping, as she makes all her own clothes,so you're safe there. She WILL insist on making all of YOUR clothes as well and it is a huge insult if you refuse.
Truthfully, I'm not much of a shopper either, and I don't think that woman would make great company! I think the animal was some kind of weasel - maybe a black-footed ferret?
Those ancient Chinese proverbs really were ahead of their time, weren't they?! I have not had the pleasure of making Mail Art Martha's acquaintance, I'll look her up.
Oh you rotten greedy Val! I would have loved an Easter Egg...
I like your take on bricolage but I did a take instead on post modernism, structuralism and other isms which are very easy to mock. I think I should find a way to put it up on my page. So everybody will know I really am off my trolley.
ArenA is the youth hostel, isn't it? The stadion might sue me for their very original (not) idea. In december there is an exhibition in the AmsterdamMuseum about people having met number 14. As he is 65 this year. Maybe Suus in Mokum will visit ;))

Val,
I had no idea about the House of Orange and enjoyed seeing your collage very much. Oranjie is the snazziest "ride" I have ever seen! So fabulous!
Have a great day,

What do you mean, Who is Frida? It's Frida Kahlo, Mexican painter. She's dead though, so she won't be coming to your party.
The Polo project is YOUR idea, so you should start the group, Val. Why did you want me to start it, no comprende...? ?
Glad you liked my gallery portrait of you, oh wait, maybe you didn't like it? It wasn't that fattening!!
