Nah, I still don't understand buitenspel. By the way, I am now very close to the house where Johan lived when he started to play football. In Betondorp.

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you... I put my full name in an anagram generator and picked out some fun pseudonyms... not as cryptic as it might seem :D

Another good one that I have not put into use yet is "Almond inlay dear"

My first name is Danielle!  Are you still looking for mail for Sigean? Or is it too late?

    Best-

    Danielle

Hi  Valentine, is very simple, if you want to participate in Mail-Art M.V.A.O.W. simply make a small installation with concrete and the little car that will send you reinterpreting the work of Wolf Vostell. The installation has to perform it on the street, somewhere like that to you, take a picture and send it to me. Thank you for your participation!

  • David Repunto

Hi Val. Working with cement (concrete) at this scale is not very difficult. You just need to make a mixture of cement (concrete), a little water and some stones ... I buy the cement (concrete) at the store where you usually buy my oil paintings, acrylic, plaster, canvas ... also you can buy in a hardware store ... You can also use any other material that you choose.

The hound is Dakota.  Paul is my spouse.   I'll send you something less likely to get battered next time around.  I can't help trying to push my luck with the postal system.

Is this a Valentine Lino on Brain Cell #827? Looks like a Val-Li to me :-)

    Lower section almost middle:

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Nice lino print, Val.I really like the red feather!

Yep, i have to be "quite quiet" because i am out at the seaside, and definitely swimming and enjoying the neighborly company, sitting under the olive tree and keeping "cool" in this heat.

Also, my internet service is very weak and slow out here. On the weekends it will probably all but disappear when all the young stuff come out with their laptops and iPods, etc. Sometimes, before 7 a.m. or after midnight, or now during seista time...I might, maybe, perhaps get a signal...we'll see :-)

And a few weeks ago I got a huge package from Ryosuke with 30 Brain Cells, too:

Glad You liked it! :) It has held together a lot of piles of mail in its days...

The biker dude is a Swedish legend among Swedish cyclists, I had the opportunity to train with him once when I was about 17. I had eaten the biggest breakfast ever seen cause my trainer told me I was going on an 120-150 kilometer round  that day. But in the last minute he had arranged me to go with the junior Swedish team and this Gösta Pettersson, an honour for sure when he laughed at me when I could not withhold their tempo for 30 kilometers, because that day their mission was to train for fast short laps...

I wasn't good cycling material but I love the aestethicism about it. AND the Tour is better than the Giro... :)

Thank you! I will hopefully send something soon! It's really good to have someone who I can ask questions and rely on...

    Yasmine

P.S. I live in Sydney, about an hour and a half's drive away from Terrigal.

  • Amy Irwen

Hi Val...so glad it got there...actually, I was pleased with this piece. There are several here on IUOMA that use it all differently...Jon Foster, who's pieces are coveted and recently from my new friend Carina Granlund. Carina uses soft gel medium for good quality photo transfers. I tried Carina's method and failed! So I'm trying Packing tape over good quality commercial advertising pictures...junk mail :)
Then you wash with running water the back of the paper so sluff off the backing paper and WAL-LA, photo majically stays on the tape with a see thru quality....I LOVE THAT !!!
This method does not work on items printed with an ink jet printer - DARN ;)
There are so many methods for transfering, but I go cheap...

I made a little gift for you for all your help..it's just a bookmark but I like it very much..I hope you can find use for it..thank you..I can send it out tomorrow :)

    Bonjour et merci Val!

I'm still getting my bearings around here. I WILL agree to an exchange with you seing as how you're the first person to really ask me on here.  Honestly I don't do a lot of Mail Art. I mostly do collages and leave them out in public as street art. I have started sending a very few items out as mail art but I spend such a long time working on each collage that I don't really have enough work to send to everyone who contacts me.  - I will be sending out a few items soon but when I do, I also send some out to addresses that are not expecting it. For instance, I have one I'm sending to an address in Paris where Theo van Gogh ran an art gallery in the 1880s addressed to "Current Occupant"... things like that. I know there is a vibrant community here in trading Mail Art and I'd like to be somewhat involved but I will have a very limited amount of work to share so I am forced to be quite particular. - Perhaps I'll write something to that effect in my bio... - Thanks for the contact and advise.

    Merci! - Lance

    Val,

Thank you for your lovely welcome!  I start Claudia's collage class on Wednesday and will pass on your hello.  I am very new to all of this but promise to send you some mail art in the next few weeks.  I appreciate you asking for me to do so!

    Take Care,

    Christine

  • Arac

I got the car too...didn't really understand it at first but your pics cleared it all up. I guess I do need concrete.  Are you putting concrete in the box to mail it back?!?

  • Fleur Helsingor

Hi Val, I'm glad that you enjoyed the "scrap" add and pass! I hope that you found some things to keep as well.

I just finished up a series of prints and there's one for you. It should be in your mailbox soon!

I love summer --- it's my favorite season. I don't have any money to do any traveling this year, but a "staycation" in Oakland and San Francisco is a mighty fine thing indeed!

  • michael dahm

thanks really a lot for your kind invitation! greetings from the alp mountains near "zugspitze" :)

    Hi Val,
Where I can see those eight photos? What you have to do is setup with the car that I sent you inspired by the work of Wolf Vostell, photograph your work and send me the picture.
    Greetings.

    ----------------------------

    Salut Val,
Où puis-je voir ces huit photos? Qu'est-ce que vous avez à faire est de configurer avec la voiture que je vous ai envoyé inspiré par le travail de Wolf Vostell, photographier votre travail et envoyez-moi l'image.
    Salutations.

Hi Val, 'bruist' means 'sparkles' like in 'full of energy / activity . Champagne also 'bruist' as does asprobruis, a kind of aspirine. (You could replace Oost by Val, hihi).Hope the cap suits your tan from the Sigean Sun.

Yes, have been watching De Tour but not enough to my liking. Watched it on Belgium television as I get a spontaneous rash when I have to listen/look to Mart Smeets.

Good luck with the lotery but an exotic Geleen? Is there another one on this globe, then?

  • Suus in Mokum

PS too: Found an interesting retro apparaatski in my dad's drawing things. Can make you another laber for the mail-art-box ;))

  • David Repunto

Hi Val! If you do not mind I'd like you to send me photos to the following E-mail: elagujerodemirna@gmail.com
    The car can have it.

Morning Mark...so happy you like "Amelia"...I had awesome material to work with, which I'm sure you recognized.

We have a red fox that moved in down by the pond...our lab bloodhound is being driven crazy by the fox smell...

I love vinyl records as well...the cd I used is a read/write cd, so no music on it...

Goedenavond Val ! Thanks so much for acknowleding receipt of my IUOMA mail.  I didn't e xpect it to arrive that rapidly.  The sketchy watercolor I included is not me, sometimes I just doodle with rest of paints.  After a very bad three weeks in July we now have some kind of summer. I love sitting on the terrace with a good book !   Have a great weekend.
