CONCRATULATIONS for a wonderful La Poste hat! Much better ¨than the "rats nest" hat You had yesterday. At 5 Euro it must have been a bargain. Long live La France, long live La Poste, long live La Val!
:) Wish you a beautiful weekend, until later, Nik.
Wonderful cap, my dear Valentine! Don't you look handsome now...(and we no longer have to be tortured by that hairy pic!) Is that a Postman's cap? You always wanted to be a postman :-) Lookin' good! xxx
I hope Oranje' is feeling better and up for the challenge. The parents don't care but the kid says I should be in at a "reasonable time" , since I think all time is reasonable there should be no worries of an inconvenient curfew :))))))))
Today we celebrate the 172 anniversary of the one penny black, valid from the 6th of may 1840! Join the celebration by thinking of this late happening/contemplating the beauty of it all with thousands of fellow postal geeks like me. Make the toasting in tea, coffe, water, wine or pastis of your choise.
Supercool! (I heard a frenchman say >>-Supercool! in a movie in the eighties and since then the expression "Supercool" is french and with a french accent), -looking forward to be involved!!!
Ahaaaaa, thank you for the explanation. The Dutch equivalent is 'heitje voor een karweitje' = a kwartje for a little job like mowing the law, bringing the empty bottles to the supermarket, taking the dog for a walk.
hi Val, your postcard arrived yesterday, amazingly all in one piece, the flap flapping as it was intended, or not? but still attached. Love the captions. It will be displayed ont he STG (not an illness) or perhaps the BG (not a group, only the Bag Gallery) around the Jubillee celebrations.
Glad the 3rd one made it, that one is for any future infractions and finage. There's something else heading to Sigean but not an envelope, something "special" just for you :))))))
hello, val...thankyou, not necessary send anvelope...you are a sweet friend...cangratulation for your activitty...you have a lot of ennergy...for your friendship i wish to be alive when you'll be 100 years old...
Goedemorgen Val, So sorry for the delay. Sounds very cool, a combi-exhibition. Will start dreaming and thinking about it. Now, Here's my recipe for making a Nelson Mandela-lala.
What I use is:
**paper or canvas
**a ruler (if you want to find the exact middle of the paper/canvas)
** nip pen
** black ink
** a 'passer', a mathematical thingy to make circles with, don't know the English word.
After I found the middle of the paper or canvas I make circles with the passer. (Forget about the drawing in this picture, something completely different.)
When I have these 'help' circles I start making a pattern, starting in the middle. Circle after circle... after circle. I do turn the paper, which is NOT allowed in real mandale-philosophy, but that is another story. Officially my coloured circles are no Nelson Mandela-lala's. Which is fine by me, don't care. Like the proces of filling the paper/canvas. When the drawing is finished I choose 7 colours (my choise, nothing official of whatever) and start filling the drawing in. Starting in the middle. This is a drawing I am working on at the moment. It's for the vet of my velvety friends ;))
You can make very big mandala's like this canvas of 80x80 cm. Only have to finish the background... but it takes already more than 6 months to finish it.
And of course you can make smaller ones. I copied a miniature and am now experimenting with combinations of blue. Which is an awfull lot, in theory, the product of 7x7x7x7x7x7x7.
So, when will you show us your first Nelson Mandela-lala from Sigean? Have fun and a nice weekend.
thank you very much for your lovely mail art piece Val :) Glad to hear mine arrived and am now lifted from the fine ;) hope you'll have a great 'pinkster weekend' next week. best wishes, tarah
I've had the Nostrils name for quite a while...not sure why I chose that one, just sounded pretty cool. Since you may not be able to hear the "music" I guess I can describe it. Basically I use a program that very easily creates music, you can layer drums and bass and all kinds of stuff. Then I take a random topic, whatever comes to mind, and then sing or try to rap or try to sing over the music. I try and make it funny.
Hey Val, Glad you got my card. So have you learned how to control your pecs like a jedi mind warrior yet?!? I've been fluffing up my tail for the big event...I'll let you know when Hef is ready for us :))))))))
Oh no, I was the one singing, did my disguise enough too fool everyone? I Won!!!! :)
Sending You a picture of the pzzle, one bit was missing, guess it was a fluxus thing You did to me. Anyway, I traced up a relative to Tiziano Veccelli who was kind enough to produce me a new one! She lives in greece these days!
You only received 5 from me? ;) There must be a black hole somewhere in the postal route between us, A piece of puzzle and an artyslide have disappeared! :)
I will withdraw my resignation papers from my current work, had high hopes for the maire assistant. Guess I will go for the maire position 2016?
That's so strange that the second card in my two part "Fleurs et Fruits" series took so long to arrive in your mailbox! I mailed both of them on the same day and they were next to each other in the pile.
I wonder if there was any hanky-panky going on en route ......
many thanks Val for your comment! glad all arrived well and that you liked it! they're a bit challenging but lots of fun to make..i'm also making some more doubles...
Val as i'm having fun experimenting and numbers are relative for my own archive ..i'll be glad to meet your numbers, just let me know how many you'd like :-) i'll be glad to send them to you..
