Why I am involved in Mail-Art:: I like communication, art, paper, painting and concepts. The ideal combination for doing Mail-Art. Worked with rubberstamps as a child and started sending out letters as soon as I could write. Discovered that it was called mail-art in 1980. Have been discovering ever since and in the last years also promoting this free cultural exchange.

Mago ou Magi, plural da palavra Persa antiga magus,
significando tanto imagem quanto "um homem sábio",
que vêm do verbo cuja raiz é "meh", significando grande, e em sânscrito,
“maha". Mago usualmente denota aquele que pratica a magia ou ocultismo;
no entanto, pode indicar também alguém que possui conhecimentos e habilidades
superiores como, por exemplo, quando se diz que um músico é um "mago dos teclados",
pois toca com perfeição o instrumento musical.

Hi Rudd...wanted to let you know I received my official membership card.. whooot-whooot!!!

Loved the envelope with all the great stamps...I make my own but nothing fancy...just out of fun-foam with a foam core base....sometimes I use sponges...I guess I'm old school....

Also today, I received my VERY FIRST EVER!!! Mail Art Envelope from YOU..

I was tickled "pink"....I will send you something in return...have a great mail art day...I just did! *-*

Ik heb de MAG opgericht in 2008. De MAG staat voor Mail Art Groep. het is een zeer kleinschalig alternatief nl: wij, vijf kunstenaars, hebben elkaar een keer in de drie maanden kunst toegestuurd per post aan de hand van een thema.We hebben eind dit jaar een expositie van dit mail art werk en beeindigen dan tevens onze groep. Ik zal je een uitnodiging toesturen.

There was a terrifying pile of mail waiting for me on my return from Venice, mail-art is obviously alive and well! I have been working every day on the mountain and there are only about 10 pieces left to answer.

Hi Ruud,
thank you for the advice and for visiting my blog. I am just starting out and really hope that I'm doing things right ;) The thing with the cameras is that I had taken them to a photography store in town to have somebody who knows more about them check everything. They even put in a new battery, as you've suggested, but the light-meter didn't work on any of them... but they sure make for a good picture anyway :D

Greetings from the UK! Thanks for the kind words Ruud, really appreciate it. Not sure if you remember my wall post from IUOMA's facebook page, but basically, I'm researching and writing my dissertation on the purpose(s) of mail art, I've only covered the first chapter so far (origins and history of mail art), but, well... your name keeps popping up in my research! I appreciate your role in the mail art community and at some point (probably just before/after Christmas), I'd quite like to ask you a few questions, via email, or perhaps more appropriately, via snail-mail, if that's OK. It would be great to be able to cite your views in my work as a primary source. My dissertation won't be published, the information will be kept private, purely as part of my degree.
