Oh Val, I wouldn't want to ruin our friendship by Googling Victoria's Secret, but while we're on the subject of Bubbles, you may just like to Google Bubbles Devere images if you are a  Victoria's Secret fan. That'll learn ya!

  • Ed Fairburn

Cheers Val, just checked out your work, love your compositions and use of colour, particularly "don't forget the postcode" and "vive la France!" (I have a thing about circles, geometry in general actually...)

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Val, i cannot look at all the Silly Stamps...I am laughing soooo hard I will burst and will end up spending my name's day in hospital! HaHaHahaHa...they are so hilarious because of YOUR humorous notes!!!

  • prettylily

Val, Your Arty Slides are divine!  I will check your site out.  Thanks for the invite.  Not sure I can work that tiny, but I may try it.

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Bonjour my dear Brit friend ;-)

Thank you for the morning-wake-up-with-a-smile-on-your-face silly stamp collection photos!

It's going to be a good day! xx

  • Tinne -TomoyoHime-

Thank you very much for your comment on my "used stamp art" postcard. I took a look at your work, I liked the "Pop Art-type series of three" and the "Stamp Sudoku" in particular.

  • Emmy Verschoor

  • De Villo Sloan

Thanks, Val. It's not that I didn't like your "earlier" work. I am enjoying the stamps a great deal. Regards, DVS

  • De Villo Sloan

Val, that is a most elegant metaphor. I have no desire to yawn, but please pass the bottle. And I look forward to receiving the stamps. As ever. DVS

Hi, I did send you an email a few days ago about the BIG Barcode.  I'll send it again to day, and will blog it later with pictures.

  • DKeys

Glad they like it and hope they find it worthy of laying on, more than once. Our cats got veal for Thanksgiving. Is it wrong? I hope your owners let you have some time to create--afterall- when you're happy they are happy.

yes, life, liberty and the pursuit of the right adhesive

I love your arty slides!!  I am proud to own one too.  J'adore!

  • Thom Courcelle

Salut, Val!  "GOTIJ" is the linguistics invention of Cheryl Penn and it means "holy-moley, look at the super-duper, can-you-believe-how-amazing-is-this mail art that I just received?!!??"... or something like that.  :)  There is a whole IUOMA Group for this celebratory exclamation of mail art joy:

    http://iuoma-network.ning.com/group/gotij

You should check it out, since you are a creator of GOTIJ mail art yourself!!

  • vizma bruns

Hi Val, thanks for telling Pinka and me to join the cat lovers group, (what an apt name, did you think of it yourself?) and I hope I didn't ruin your weekend with the Bubbles sites!! How cruel of me!

  • Emmy Verschoor

Thanks, Val, for your card from heaven.

    Delightful!

  • cheryl penn

    Dear Valentine,

Of COURSE I always write like that. Its part of my pale and interesting disguise :-) X

  • jon foster

I haven't executed my idea about sending to famous addresses just yet. I need to compile a list before I dive into this. Things have been a bit quiet for a few reasons. Right now is the end of the semester and I have to finish a week early because of some travels in a couple weeks. Also, I've been working on making a zine out of my China Journal from this past summer. You'll receive one as soon as they're finished. Right now I'm slowly printing them off at work to keep the overhead down. This is taking a little while.

    Hope you're well?

  • vizma bruns

OOps, I accidentally commented on my own photo, it was meant to be a reply to Val!!! My reply....."I'm the PRAWN star!!!!"

  • Nancy Bell Scott

Oh yes, love my shoes. Socks today are maroon and pink. I keep forgetting to wear them mismatched, thanks for the reminder, Val! Glad you got my misshapen love letter :--} . I'll be happy to have MA from you ... am looking forward to it.

  • vizma bruns

Thankyou Val for the googled card you sent, it made me laugh out loud and I scared some sheep. Regarding your son, of course I've seen him, he lives here in Waitpinga. He does odd jobs for me around the farm, shepherd, furniture lifter and mover, kitty litter cleaner. He's been far too busy to write but I can pass on a message for you if you like. Cheers.

  • Svetlana Pesetskaya

Expensive VAL ! your envelope hasn't come (((((Me it is a pity ((But I don't lose hope)))))))))))))))))
  • Mim Golub Scalin

You are a man of many ideas. Thank you for sharing. I'll think on the 1001 idea, maybe I'll think of 1001 pieces of mail art.

  • vizma bruns

I couldn't find this Susannah even on Goggle! It led to a wedding registry asking me to buy her expensive gifts. She'll get nothing from me! Was that an email address you gave me? Anyway, I'm not letting your son go to visit his aunt, the farm is going to ruin since I've started mail arting. He's far too busy now. Regards, Sparkle.

  • vizma bruns

Hi again Val, I've just looked at your envelope project, upon Katerina's recommendation.(I asked her if I was a bad mail artist because I had sent out 20 empty envelopes and she said to look at your stuff.) So I did, and I feel much better. Great stuff Val. And it only took 8 hours to see a year's work...

  • yulia

I used to have cats but my dogs are real cat-haters so I can't have cats now. My "sausage dog" is my closest and most faithful friend. I do love her!

    Looking forward to your MailArt.

    Yulia

  • Amy Irwen

Hi Val, received your Great, Colorful, Lively, Funny, Card today...yes, it does make you wonder where you started in life, where you really wanted to begin, and where you actually ended up...Nothing is as it Seems....

Have a great mail art day!!!   Hugs...

  • Svenja Wahl

Hi Val, received my own letter to you today, I have no idea why anybody could miss that it should be send to France... Will send it again tomorrow!

  • The Mailmonster

    Hi Val!
I'm glad you liked the cad I sent you.
Do you know what is really funny about you mentioning that Burce Springsteen song "57 Channels and nothing on"? - On my blog I wrote a post about the World TV Day and chose that song to be the soundtrack of my post and the MailArt I send you as accompanying image. If you haven't already seen it, here is the link --> http://thepublicpostcard.wordpress.com/2011/11/21/post-3-57-channels/

  • vizma bruns

My plan is working..you get jealous and decide to send me adoring letters, silly stamps, money to buy international stamps, mail art so wonderful that everybody elses pales in comparison, work that makes me laugh so much that I don't want to write to anybody but you. So get on with it Val. Almost yours, Viz.

  • vizma bruns

ps- no I don't kill the fish for moisturiser, I catch them and wring them out. Then I put it on my face, not hair! Ugh, that would be too gross!!!

  • Molly McGrath

Thank You SO MUCH for your contribution to Processed!!

I really appreciate your generousity :) Can't wait for it to arrive!

Val, you tease! I see you've been flirting with lots of the IUOMA girls!!! Naked pics, indeed! And flirting with another Aussie to boot! Get back to your Full scale(!!!) model of the Eiffel or make me some mail art, you bad cad! PS Your daughter wants nothing to do with me, or my computer wants nothing to do with her.

  • Kerri Pullo

I am so glad the blind ink made you smile...now I am smiling! I just love mail art!

  • vizma bruns

"Children will be asked to decorate.." and you're inviting me? Well, I'll gladly take part in your exhibition if you need more works, I guess I'm quite childish at times. Not having spent time in Sigean it may have to be a Summer in Waitpinga theme though, which may have to be toned down to a G rating for your viewers. I hope I won't have to see you as a clown because it may once again threaten our friendship and destroy the manly brutish image I have of you from the neck down.

As for the "little bit of wee comes out!", it must be an Aussie saying, haven't you heard it before? It's an expression used when something happens to you that is so exciting that you can no longer control yourself! Oh dear, I hope people don't think I'm a smelly old lady and start sending me incontinence mail art pants! Perhaps I've scared people off!!

Oh well, I'm going outside to help you with the tunnel and try to meet you halfway.

    Ooroo to you too

     Vizma

  • vizma bruns

Very bad decision made by your board/bored members, I could have met quite interesting new friends. Granted, a wet and heavy incontinence pad would be phenomenal in postage fees.

  • vizma bruns

Dear Val, I think I spend more time writing to you and reading your fabulous comments than I do actually making mail art.

Clowns give me the creeps, I don't think I've been attacked or ever had a bad experience with one, but, ugh..creepy.

Oh, you want to visit the farm, yes that's fine, and your son could sure use a hand castrating the sheep and bulls. (Is that the sort of non G rated photo you had in mind?)

I will have to write to you this week, did you get my mail art? It seems like many letters to and from me are getting stuck somewhere for weeks, maybe someone is admiring them and borrowing them for a little while.

David says hello, (or is it help?) but he's very sunburnt and quite emaciated. I should probably let him have a glass of water. Well, it'll rain eventually.

    Seeya mate!

    Vizma

    What's frosties?

  • Eraser Heed

Merci! It was actually intended as a picture for my profile avatar but some error makes me go without one until I resolve it. I am new to this site so thank's for Your nice comment!

    Buy the way...love Your hat!

    Regards Niklas

    ..and ...Cheers! :)

  • Eraser Heed

Sounds like a terrific idea! With the avatar in place I finally got time to make art again. I'll dust off my black old berret and sharp the pencil.

Have a nice evening and see You in the mailbox..

    Regards, Niklas

    Hi V!

What the...who is this? Where's my bereted friend? Oh phew, that's not too clowny!

Looks like that was fun, what a lovely idea, what will you do with all the anvelopes? Send them to IUOMA members with your name on the back? Ha ha, slave labour, cunning plan!

Thanks for teaching me some Aussie slang, we don't use that in the South.

I hate computers too, I've been known to cry, throw tantrums and swear like a wharfie at my laptop.Tho I would like to know how to do a blog like all the other clever people and show my received art, of which there are five. But I don't know what a blog is, so forget that idea.

I found Spooons, the @ was the problem. I like Susannah's telephone.

    Cheers,

    the other V.

  • vizma bruns

Hmm...I don't know about your French letter idea. I think I have some that expired in 1992, but they might crumble in the post.

  • vizma bruns

Potato potato potato! That's an Irish greeting too.Yes, I'll send you a Summer in Waitpinga envelope for your exhibition, since summer has just started here this month. Waitpinga is only famous for its surf beach, "Waits" as us locals call it. Lots of people drown and die and get eaten by sharks there, but it's very pretty. I tell all my friends to go there, well, the ones I have left...

You should Google earth the farm,it's mainly a bunch of trees, a crumbling farmhouse, and 350 acres of nothing but sheep, cows, roos and dams. You might be better off digging to the nearest town, Victor Harbor and asking for directions there.

I KNOW what a FRench letter is, did you think I was talking about an actual letter, how can that expire and crumble? Enough on that, you started it anyway, not me.

I hope you'll be doing the cat lovers exchange, yes? I left some ideas there.

    Cheerio. V

Those stamp pieces are HILARIOUS.  Congrats on your envelope show! Looks like you might inspire many future mail artists!  Also- thank you for the recent postcard, it too had me laughing quite loudly.

  • vizma bruns

    Don't fret Val!

You're my bestest pal, Val! Had a horrid computer/internet connection day yesterday, I had to spit the dummy, crack a fruity and then roll on the ground having a big tanty until my sister raced over to me with a large calmative glass of red. Soooo, then I went and made mail art and felt much better. 7 people will be very happy soon, including you, so off to the post office i must go. Then I'll get on my abacus and try to calculate how much I need for a deposit on your house.

    Gangajang, Vizma.

  • vizma bruns

    Sveiks Val!

A bit of Latvian for you. It seems as if you know more about Waits than I do. There is an old schoolhouse, a little church, no pub or shop or mailbox. 165 people? I've seen about 14. And one is a very famous footy player in this country who actually visited here once, I guess you could say that a bit of wee came out that day!!! But I digress.  I drove by Old Rd today and wanted to go and look at the house but it was up a very steep hill and I didn't want to spill my wine, so I came back home.

Sorry I didn't send your letter today cos my bloody printer ran out of drink and I wanted a copy of all the letters (as thay were so darned good! ha ha) so I'll drive back to Victor tomorrow to post. I'm hoping you'll have my first posting by then too.

My sister says hi, she keeps asking what has Val written and she is more of a slavedriver than me, so David is safer with me.

    Uzredzesanos,

    Vizma

  • PIRO

    Hi val

Glad you got and lliked the Postcard "Val likes Stamps"  Thanks for the invitation.

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Worms will attack that multi-color monstrosity on your head! Head Worms! AACK!

Time to put a STP to the worm's attack, Val. They retreat from RED!

Put on the Santa cap, NOW!
