I love mail that doesn't ask for money, pitch credit cards or summons me for jury duty. I'm amazed and grateful for all the generosity of this community.
(Note: my website is under construction).
Hi Nadine thank you for your message, nice hearing from you. I hope you have a wonderful week end! I sent you a print from a lino cut. take care, Karin.
Hi Nadine -- got your card & love it! Posted the images on the main page here... AND still getting used to how this website works. Yikes. Your drawing is really cool. Thanks.
HAHAHAHAH! I just did a mistake. I accidentaly mistaken you for another mail artist. I intended to write the previous comment in her profile. But because I sent you mail art today, I was with your name in my head. And so in the confusion and noise inside my head, I ended in your profile.
I've very sorry. :)
Cheers!
Nadine, today I'm the one who is really happy: Thank you very much for the envelope (I love the boy with the odd hat) and the impressing terrible pictures on the postcard. (I'm not smoking and never have so I can look at it without fear, but it's really "fies" (disgusting). And I love the movable leg! Thanks a lot ;-) Svenja
Greetings from one Californian to another (who has transplanted many years ago to Arkansas) it would be wonderful to exchange art with you! I do tend to take my time so don't think I've forgotten about you if you do not get a piece instantly from me but I always let you know when I get your mail. Best Wishes.
Below is another person's handwriting I love (a French Canadian who rents part of our house in the summer). Handwriting is becoming sort of a major focus (some like Thom might say "compulsive-obsessive"!), since my fountain pen now works after at least 10 years of not. : I am enjoying the pen hugely, maybe even to an unreasonable degree, horrors!
Thanks for letting me know that the "jars" card has arrived - another tick for the Register. It hadn't been my intention for the recipient to sign, Guido being the first, but that is the beauty of Mail Art - it is always full of surprises so feel free to "add on" your signature before scanning. What fun. Have you opened the envelope yet? When you say that you like the stamps, is that "postage", "art" or "rubber"?
I dind't know you would love the found child's art. I was keeping it inside a drawer for the right time to be sent. Something told me that it should go to you. :D Intuition. Or perhaps it is so sort of psychic power... HAHAH! ^_^
Hey Nadine, we had a lot of wind here at the coast but didn't lose power, and now it's a beautiful day. Picking up a million twigs, that's about it. Thanks for thinking of me. I'm glad you liked your packet of stuff and will get you more mica.
Hey Nadine - Nick and I received your beautiful mail art today! Thank you so much for welcoming us to IUOMA and for sharing your wonderful characters. What a great piece - don't worry, we'll send you something in the mail this week! Thanks again~
The squirrel is a simple screen print/stencil...I find that if I keep it really simple I do pretty well...I do need to try to experiment a little more now that I have the hang of this....I am starting to feel like I am doing the same thing over and over...the dragonly is a stamp...I haven't done any new stamps in awhile...maybe it is time to try out some new ideas!
I am glad you like the mail art!!! Thanks for the positive feedback :)
Nadine, I received your wonderful letter, the picture of your room with the handwriting of your mother "pink & white", how sweet those old photos are. Thank you so much, this is a very special exchange for me!
Nadine your gorgeous leaf prints arrived today, what a nice surprise! I am into printing in a big way so I really appreciate it. Will send you something soon!
A different kind of observation, Nadine, I'm glad you feel that way. By the way, mica cannot be found on the beach here, far as I know. Mine came from a guy who visited quarries in western Maine; I have more to send you.
Ha, glad to provide that by accident, Nadine. He stole X valuables at yard sales here; then crazy stuff like tell my husband "if she weren't married I'd hit on her"; then his mother died rather, well, unexpectedly. No matter what time of day, when going to his place to get stuff for my shop, I'd leave a note in the kitchen: "going to bruce q's, 2:30pm, 5/27, call police if not home by 4."
Hi Nadine! You've been so generous to me with your artistic talents lately. Wanted you to know that your Trashpo piece was truly heavy on the PO[-etic]!!! An amazing gift! I hope to post pictures soon. For now, wanted to say,"thank you!"
Bonsoir Nadine! Your much-awaited Trashpo card finally made it to Sigean, France, today. It's great fun, lots of weird and wonderful images, and i keep looking at it.
MANY THANKS!
Do you collect trash systematically, or does it just happen?
I have 3 trash collections: the first is my life, the second is my studio/permanent installation, and the third is 2 large boxes in which i stuff things in that one day, perhaps, I'll use for mail art.
Thanks again, and I'll be sending you something back soon.
Bestest, Moby Val
PS Can you tell me, please, where the 'poetry' fits into 'Trashpo'? (Not yours: everyone's) I can get the trash concept, but the po bit of it seems very illusive... or imaginative....or impossible...or anything else beginning with i like...
Hi Nadine~ A big THANK-YOU for the lovely surprise mailart received from you a few days ago. I get my mail at a mail store and not my home...so sometimes it's hard to get to the box more that 4x per month...IT"S BEAUIFUL...you have a very steady hand I must say to get your metallic pin outlining all the appliques, etc on your piece. The faces are colorfuland I also love the vintage....very nice. Even my husband picked it up and stood there looking and admiring your work...so THANKS AGAIN !
Hi Nadine just to say a big thanks for the wonderful mail art I received from you today, love the art and I like your new stamps !!Your studio looks like a really peaceful and happy place to work. It makes a difference if you have special place to create ? Take care , Karin xx
Would love to swap with you. I'll be gone until Nov. 1st so if you want to send something right away, I can return the favor when I get back. Looking forward to seeing your art too!
P.S. to your husband...thanks for rescuing the greyhounds, they are wonderful animals. Please tell everyone to adopt rescued pets and be sure to spay and neuter.
Nadine, you have really outdone yourself with this trashpoganza I received from you today! I feel so lucky to receive art from you as your talent is limitless. Your illustrations are hilarious (glad the highlights were a hit) and how you thought of having a fold out envelope? such a great idea. And no I'm not a cocaine user so don't qualify for the study and I would like to keep all of my dance fees. So is LA mail art a business too? Did you know Dewey? Or is that what you imagine? That's what I thought of with your photos-that they each get made up stories about their lives. Well, your art really made my day and I love your Miss Tell It Like It Is:)

Thank you for your lovely comment. (: Your art is very quirky and unique, and I especially love the ones that resemble scrapbooks.
I would love to exchange mail once I move back to Singapore - sadly, I've given up on China's mail.
