Medieval manuscript researchers studying how medieval mail art was produced insisted for me to join IUOMA for almost a century. Point is that mail art and IUOMA are seriously addictive and here I´m today dealing poorly with my fatal flaw. Hooked forever in this ego trip....a good one!

Patricio! Sorry it's taken me a while to let you know that I received the awesome mail art!!! LOVED it! I'll post a picture of it for my wall later this week!!
Vou fotografar a produção e postar.
Hello.... all very confusing.... still working my way around this site.... but think its BIG and Fantastic..... all these artists at my fingertips.... WOW
Thanks for the welcome and interest, Patricio. I'm going to try to get something out to you in the next week or so. I am a teacher, and it's only the second full week of school for me, so life is suitably hectic. Remember that patience is a virtue! :)
I am still unsure how this site works, do people create images for mail art specially or do they show the type of work they usually do eg 3D , ceramics, painting etc..... everything I have seen so far seems to be collage type work. ( not that there is anything wrong with collage/ mixed media..... I have shown work that I did for a recent exhibition, my M,A. work is quite different. I am interested in seeing what art work you do....
I shared a flat with a guy from Curitiba (blond hair, blue eyes???!!!) for a few years, so sure! ...talking of not throwing away anything, I must have somewhere in my vaults some printed materials from brazil.. I must find them to do something to send you!
Hi P~ Your request has been received and will be granted. I have been registered on this site for just 2 weeks now...and I have received/ returned 2 pieces of mail art...I'm postong photo's tomorrow...and in a word 'excited' !!
Hello Patricio! Greetings from India! I'd love to send something to you, but I'm afraid I'm just a beginner and haven't had much experience in mail art. But I'll send out a letter and a postcard if that's alright. =) It's nice to meet you!
Hi , thank you for your invitation.. I'm quite excited to be a part of this.
It's a far more detailed site than I imagined. Might take a little while to get my head around it all. I would like to see some of your mail art. Have you any online images?
Dear Celestial Scribe, your mail art arrived yesterday and it is absolutely FABULOSA! I like the way you addressed the envelope, that you wrote "eu" instead of my name. It made me laugh! I hope the huelga is finished or will be soon. Hasta la proxima, eu I mean Mim
Hi Patricio~ Sorry for the delay in your piece getting to the mailbox, my registration to IUOMA was a fumble (my fault) so now I am sorted, loving it and underway to share some mailbox goodies to you and everyone else I've met here so far.
QUESTION: what do you favor in objects art design elements approach etc...?
I looked on your profile but would like to hear from you please,
I am glad you wrote to me, especially because I myself is an artist, I graduated as a graphic designer MA last year. I've made only one Mail Art or so, in my life, but I try to keep up. My mission here is to communicate between with you all and the Hungarian Stamp Museum of Budapest, that is glad to open up for something new: to be a beloved place for Mail Artists as well. We will have very soon a big Mail Art project, and I'd be happy if You'd also participate in it.
I will upload the poster soon here, and on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/Belyegmuzeum Please give us a like there if you can, and get our freshest news!
I was asked to "work" in the Mail Art part, or field of the museum, because I'm the most involved person there. That can easily mean, that I will send people many-many mail arts, because I really fancy this way of thinking and this freedom, that only the Mail Art can give. However, there are often projects. Not only a museum can reliese a project, but in this case, it does. I am not only asking the world to send us their artwork, I rather say that the museum is ready to show, and rumor such great artist worldwide that can be found in all of you. I can not be only "myself" here, although I will, of course, but I was asked to stand for the Stamp Museum firstly. I really hope you will be also one of the artist who's work will be proudly displayed in our exhibitions. To show this way of thinking to the Hungarian artists and philatelists!
You can see from the list of the exhibitions my work has been included in, that there has been a long gap between making mail art, however, having said that I have from time to time made what I call visual poetry, and I've placed some of them on my blog. Thanks for your lovely welcome to this group.
The video was a simple fun thing to do - the music came from a release I had on eetapes from Belgium (1990). The idea for the project came from rummaging through old boxes of stuff and found the newspaper cutting of an astronaut on the moon – yellowed and faded – it still makes my heart flutter. I wish I’d been to the moon.
As an 11 year old I watched the first moon landing in 1969. I was mad about everything to do with space travel, I would read anything that was about rockets, cosmonauts and astronauts. Later in my life I shook the hand of a man who shook the hand of my all time hero Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin, that was for me like touching history, if only secondhand.
Here is a newspaper clipping (jpg) about the exhibition click here
Yep those early pioneering days of space exploration were exciting. I remember feeling very sad that Laika (when reading about it at school a few years later) had died - being the first mammal to ever die in orbit. It seemed all rather heartless but... Where are those pioneering days now! Take me to a frontier now!!!
Luis .

Thank you Patricio for your warm welcome! I am an newbie to this experience but looking forward to it. Just entered my first online postcard exhibit...for Collage Artists of America (I'm a member! & on the Board of Directors). I created two postcards (I'll try to post them on here soon for you to see!) Loved the experience, and can see this will be an addictive hobby! I am a mixed media artist and lead a co-operative group of experimental artists here in Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley. I'm still trying to figure out how this blog works? So your patience is appreciated!! Sending warm wishes from southern California.~Barbara
I started corresponding with Ryosuke in 1983. A few years later he started his Brain Cell project. He has done over 800 and I have participated in half of them. What questions do you have?
Hi Patrico I plan to exhibit the pieces within the gallery. I think it could be a point of interaction. I am open to suggestions as to how it could work I think it has a life but I realise there are artists out there that have a wealth of experience in communicatin and sharing art this way. The cards could be sold as art in the usual way for a gallery and have a variety of presentation, framed, notelets/postcards to continue sending them around the world. I am thinking out loud. Suggestions on a postcard. Thanks Maggie

Patrico...
When asking a person if they speak english - it is important to be aware of how you phrase the question...
Your comment on Maria Mariutza profile could easily be misunderstood....
Thank you for you expanded awareness on this topic.
