1952 (when I sent a "Thankyou for my Birthday Present' to my Grandma, and illustrated it with a little drawing). Since then my Mail Art history has been, well, interesting
Bonjour, merci beaucoup for the welcome. i perused your website, saw much that i loved. i think my favorited were the many faces of the cat and then the same with you :) you definately make it seem simple to make nice, fun mail art. well since you like the element of surprise, I will NOT tell you that I am sending anything !
HI VAL, UPON YOUR RECOMMENDATION I'VE MADE MUCH PROGRESS IN DEVELOPING MY HOMEPAGE AND EVEN DESIGNED (VERY CRUDELY) MY FIRST IUOMA STAMP TO MARK THE OCCAISION. WILL SEND SOMETHING OFF TO YOU REAL SOON.
MANY THANKS VAL,
AS FOR YOUR STAMPS ON PAPER, I USUALLY SOAK A BUNCH IN A BOWL OF WATER, AND WITH TWEEZERS TAKE OUT THE STAMPS AND PUT THEM IN BETWEEN PAGES OF NEWSPAPER TO DRY OVERNIGHT. THEN I TRANSFER THEM BETWEEN THE PAGES OF A HEAVY BOOK WHICH FLATTENS THEM OUT NICELY. NICE WORK FOR A DREARY DAY. OF COURSE THIS TECHNIQUE DOES NOT WORK ON SELF ADHESIVE, STICKY STAMPS.
EDWARD
HOLA Val, have some free, undistubed time, da boyz are at the goomers...ahhh the piece and quiet...haha....I have been inspired by everyone at IUOMA and have been going great guns on my art...
take care...Amy

isn't there a special name for big macs in france?
Dear Val - such a pleasure :-) - I have another set for you - the post office has gone mad - we had NO stamps - we had to use up ALL the old ones - not that I complained I like LOTS OF STAMP envelopes - and now there are new issues coming out our ears :-) - my po guys complain because I dont want to use their ONE R6 stamp but insist on all the R1 fish - I've cleared them out :-( X
Hi Val, delighted the card arrived safely - my first puzzle address card that has made it safely overseas (or at least across La Manche). Scans only required (and very welcome) if there are any postal markings. I'm maintaining a Bray-style register of all my puzzle cards.
Answers to your questions - (i) yep, was given Harriet's book for Xmas and (ii) yes, I would be interested. I await your tips. Cheers, John
I was sooo excited to get the pages! I am having way too much fun putting together a little care package for you! I miss you Senor Froggy! I'm soooo far behind posting great art I've received, but wait til you see! Didjoo get your package from me and her royal highness The Sock Princess?
there may be small problem returning the gloves as my pet rat has joined the gardening club and needed a pair. and took the extra to the pawn shop to buy some smokes.
hi Val...thanks for the mail art...I received "Last" Thursday, but I had company, so just now getting back to "normal"...anywhoooo! Merci beau coooooo.....
De Rien. C'est mon plaisir. It's a nickel. I sent euros to the americans on the list and cents to the euros. sorry it was so simple- I had just gotten back from a scuba trip and was really tired.
I'm already back in the US so...I wanted to send out my address while I was there but I had serious doubts that what sent would actually make it to me. Thank so much for the interest. Got some things to make a few cards out of, sending soon.
Love your current moniker. I’m really enjoying this year’s tour even with the tragic number of withdrawals from the race. Really sad about Vinokourov. Did Contador lay down a little notice for the Alps stages today?
Yay! Glad the slide mounts arrived, and not all torn-envelope-because-of-box-corners! Val, you are my savior...I rarely throw away ANYTHING (thousands of US stamps, slide holders, etc). And then the day comes when I go on this Cleaning Binge and toss EVERYTHING in the garbage...unless, I find someone to send them to ;-) And that someone is YOU! (' Know anyone who would like hundreds of old Christmas cards???? How about a few hundred postcards???)
Well sir, those are the most precise coordinates I can give to you, literally, very precise, unless you are familiar with dead-reckoning in the grasslands of north-eastern Colorado....

Another great postcard in the PO Box today! Love the comic book style.
