Bonjour, merci beaucoup for the welcome. i perused your website, saw much that i loved. i think my favorited were the many faces of the cat and then the same with you :)  you definately make it seem simple to make nice, fun mail art.  well since you like the element of surprise, I will NOT tell you that I am sending anything !

  • EDWARD SCHAEFER

HI VAL, UPON YOUR RECOMMENDATION I'VE MADE MUCH PROGRESS IN DEVELOPING MY HOMEPAGE AND EVEN DESIGNED (VERY CRUDELY) MY FIRST IUOMA STAMP TO MARK THE OCCAISION. WILL SEND SOMETHING OFF TO YOU REAL SOON.

    VERY BEST REGARDS,

    EDWARD

  • cb crane

I am eager to send something your way, hecko. :)
  • EDWARD SCHAEFER

    MANY THANKS VAL,
AS FOR YOUR STAMPS ON PAPER, I USUALLY SOAK A BUNCH IN A BOWL OF WATER, AND WITH TWEEZERS TAKE OUT THE STAMPS AND PUT THEM IN BETWEEN PAGES OF NEWSPAPER TO DRY OVERNIGHT. THEN I TRANSFER THEM BETWEEN THE PAGES OF A HEAVY BOOK WHICH FLATTENS THEM OUT NICELY. NICE WORK FOR A DREARY DAY. OF COURSE THIS TECHNIQUE DOES NOT WORK ON SELF ADHESIVE, STICKY STAMPS.

Hey Val! I'm on facebook too, if you're there. I'm really never here.
  • maybe it is the double quarter pounder with cheese i am thinking of.
  • cheryl penn

Dear Val - such a pleasure :-) - I have another set for you - the post office has gone mad - we had NO stamps - we had to use up ALL the old ones - not that I complained I like LOTS OF STAMP envelopes - and now there are new issues coming out our ears :-) - my po guys complain because I dont want to use their ONE R6 stamp but insist on all the R1 fish - I've cleared them out :-( X
  • John Tingey

Hi Val, delighted the card arrived safely - my first puzzle address card that has made it safely overseas (or at least across La Manche). Scans only required (and very welcome) if there are any postal markings. I'm maintaining a Bray-style register of all my puzzle cards.

Answers to your questions - (i) yep, was given Harriet's book for Xmas and (ii) yes, I would be interested. I await your tips. Cheers, John

  • Svenja Wahl

Good morning, Val! Thanks a lot for the postcard. It's great! I'm passionate about art too.

  • there may be small problem returning the gloves as my pet rat has joined the gardening club and needed a pair. and took the extra to the pawn shop to buy some smokes.

  • Svenja Wahl

Dear Val, just got your postcard today, the "Deutsche Post" had some difficulties with the address. I love the duck stamps! Thank you very much!
  • Jen Staggs

De Rien. C'est mon plaisir.  It's a nickel.  I sent euros to the americans on the list and cents to the euros.  sorry it was so simple- I had just gotten back from a scuba trip and was really tired.
  • Nancy Bell Scott

Val, yes, I will send you mail art and look forward to yours after, thank you.
  • jon foster

I'm already back in the US so...I wanted to send out my address while I was there but I had serious doubts that what sent would actually make it to me. Thank so much for the interest. Got some things to make a few cards out of, sending soon.
  • Louise Kiner

    Hello Val,

Thanks for your "5". How did you know that the Dave Clarke 5 was one of my favorite bands? (Next to Herman's Hermits, that is:-) ).

  • Theo Nelson

    Hi Val,

Love your current moniker. I’m really enjoying this year’s tour even with the tragic number of withdrawals from the race. Really sad about Vinokourov. Did Contador lay down a little notice for the Alps stages today?

  • Alicia Starr

aahh, living on the edge le Tour de Val. Were you successful in your endeavor?
  • Amy Irwen

Val...so glad you like it...I know you enjoy stamps and cats...Keep an eye on Miss Kitty; she may take to wandering without you knowing...

    Amy

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Yay! Glad the slide mounts arrived, and not all torn-envelope-because-of-box-corners! Val, you are my savior...I rarely throw away ANYTHING (thousands of US stamps, slide holders, etc). And then the day comes when I go on this Cleaning Binge and toss EVERYTHING in the garbage...unless, I find someone to send them to ;-) And that someone is YOU! (' Know anyone who would like hundreds of old Christmas cards???? How about a few hundred postcards???)

    xxPrincess Kate

  • Svenja Wahl

Bonsoir Val, I'm happy that you like it! And that you weren't arested! Hope you have a nice summer with or without bicycling ... ;-)
  • Louise Kiner

    Hello Val,

Fireball XL5 had a great theme song which I must share with you as I know you will appreciate it:

Don't be timid, liberate those signs, Monsieiur.

Well sir, those are the most precise coordinates I can give to you, literally, very precise, unless you are familiar with dead-reckoning in the grasslands of north-eastern Colorado....
