Another case of I wanted you to have them. You're covered - I received that great piece from you that unfortunately set off my allergies. I do appreciate it. I know there are always risks.

  • De Villo Sloan

How would a made man answer? He went away. You don't need to worry about him any more.
  • De Villo Sloan

You know, connected. A wise guy. "He went away. He won't be back."
  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Cute Cats? A few months ago we had 5 cats with baby-bumps...now we have cats ad kits...last count was 18 all together...but they are seldom "altogether!"

    Here: 2 moms and 4 kits...only!

Diane, I have to write Cheryl Penn a formal letter of apology for trying to expel her from Sandpo. She won't participate in the asemic project unless I do. So I'm writing the letter. Just keeping you in the loop because you are the MOP. Regards, DVS
  • De Villo Sloan

This one you sent Arttower - OK, this is a bonified classic. You have crossed over.

  • De Villo Sloan

is there only one of these?
  • De Villo Sloan

I'm copying this - don't care what you say
  • Lesley Magwood Fraser

Thanks Diane for the collage with Body Perfection on it! Is this in response to the last one I sent you with the fashion and deportment tips??? Yes I do feel happiness and accomplishment!
  • De Villo Sloan

Here's the letter of apology. I hope we can move on. I hope your points are covered:

  • De Villo Sloan

Yes your Highness, I'll get right on it. Your Majesty, Cheryl said she wouldn't lead the new asemic project unless her name was cleared in the expulsion scandal.
  • De Villo Sloan

Yes your majesty. You are sure rubbing my face in this one.
  • De Villo Sloan

I'm just taking a break from my IUOMA job. "Roadkill" is on the sci-fi channel. I disagree with you - it's spell-binding. I'm watching the rest of it.
  • De Villo Sloan

The ending is ambiguous. It's not that bad. The prehistoric giant vulture is good. With roadkill, you do have to remember the birds. I don't see a lot of rk art with birds:

  • De Villo Sloan

Ramone & Stubbs saw Roadkill at Tequila Night in some joint in Cancun. They thought YOU were the actress in the brown jacket in the still below. That's when the confusion started. Roadkill is sort of an anti-Spring Break movie. You'd expect to see these kids in some spring break comedy, but it turns out differently for them. I think it's a classic in the Roadkill genre. The real hope is a new sequel.

  • De Villo Sloan

I see RK as having huge influence from "Texas Chainsaw Massacre." That is a kind of very early rk film. The Tobe Hooper original has been elevated to art film. We definitely have roadkill meets Hollywood going on here.

Thanks for the card, it was really good. I like the way you made the envelope as well. Fun fact, one of the images that showed up on the card is Hanes Brands, anchored in my town. Anyway, thanks.
  • De Villo Sloan

Definitely not Stubbs - he's doing the rodeo circuit right now.

  • liketelevisionsnow

Hi Diane - Thank you for the mail art! I will send something soon.

The Sand Police needed some kind of visual identity. Glad this works. They do fall under the jurisdiction of the M.O.P. Of course, officially, we deny their existence. But we know better ;)
  • Ntk (Natalya Korolkova)

Yes, this is my fourth child! :)))In their body temperature almost 39 degrees, so they sleep or under sideways, or are looking for a warm place. And because we have the North, very cool!
  • Ntk (Natalya Korolkova)

No, allergy we do not have. To this has always been fuzzy siberian cats, there is a dog. And it is a "miracle" gave me a little. Now it is already in the modem does not fit.
  • Lesley Magwood Fraser

Thanks Diane for the card received yesterday! Good weird hypnotism....

Hey, I'm getting all these fake DK shopping lists. I don't know what to believe any more. Finish your pages for the asemic book yet? No pressure. It's just, you know, you're playing with the big kids now.
  • De Villo Sloan

You know I'm teasing. Remember your fans! Yes, Cheryl is going to have to have a press conference when she comes online (must be still feeding the monkeys). I think it will turn out to be fairly simple - your chapter will be 2 A-4 pages folded (giving you a total of 8 pages). But she needs to clarify. DK - stay with me here - I'm really counting on you for this - seriously. Be looking for "Fake John Bennett Shopping List - DK Coming to Dinner" - it will be a classic.
  • Mary Jo Cartledgehayes

I'm amazed that he made it! I plucked the vase filled with a dozen fresh roses out of the dumpster -- enjoyed them immensely -- when they started to fade, I separated the petals and kept them for a month or two. I thought they might be too brittle to work, so I'm very happy to hear they made it.

Hi Diane - Glad you liked the Matadors! It's from the "Pirate Series" ... if you'd like to send a piece to 12-12-12, just send it to End of the World Project, 12-12-12, PO Box 360, Tamworth, NH 03886.

Colorado through and through!   Never Texas!   Blaaaah!

*though to be honest, a lot of my family is from Texas*

  • Plush Possum Studio-Rose McGuinn

Yay! Thank you for your Friendship!

    :)

  • prettylily

Diane,  Thank you so much for your encouragement.  I was just talking about you.  Are you wearing your turban?  Sue
  • prettylily

    Diane,

Maybe the invisable turban?  It's one of those things that sometimes you see it and sometimes you don't!  My first husband WAS a magician.  Not kidding, he really was.

I have yet to figure out where I am in this project.  Started a book mock up and since I had already ordered a large supply of paper before it was announced,  I will be working with that as my book nesting paper.  Eight originals for each book?  I don't know.... but I do intend to personalize them some way.  I hope to get a better feel for it this week.

Wish you were on my team.  :-(   Anyway, we are in the same boat & we have good leadership.  Plus, haven't you done this before?

    Sue

  • prettylily

I like the idea of the rubbings.  You can do a lot with that idea!   Ironed paper perhaps?  The residue you see is the wax from my wax paper ironings.
  • PIRO

Thanks Diane yes it has that kind of look. I have been seeing and photografing some that have call my atenttion for their asemic look.  I will include some digital work of it also.
  • jon foster

Got your work in the mail today, really great stuff. I think I'm going to start recycling boxes and what not (like you) as the back for my cards. I really need to do this, thanks for the motivation.

  • De Villo Sloan

Great - "Stand By Your Ham" - your grandmother was real porker.
  • De Villo Sloan

dk - it took great courage to come out like that. as a respected mail-artist, you give many the strength not to live in shame but to celebrate love
  • De Villo Sloan

  • De Villo Sloan

Hi DK, Dark wall is good at confusing people. I think there are 2 "Life of DK" pieces so far. You just can't confuse these with the ongoing "TOXIS Adventure" series, which is a whole different thing. We'll see what sort of response we get to "Life of DK, Mail-Art Star."

The woman with dark hair in the yellow dress and then the striped dress on the right is DK, you get that, right?

  • De Villo Sloan

I am glad you like it DK. Hey, this is avant garde art! All the pieces might not fit perfectly together. I was actually thinking Stubbs was the one left behind. The announcer isn't necessarily DW. He could be. But as a mail-art star DK tours, stars in Roadkill movies, does Fluxus performances on TV, writes books and appears on talk shows making people aware the global conspiracy involving roadkill in prison food. That leaves it open for adventures - like Little Shiva's "The Adventures of Trash Baby."
  • De Villo Sloan

Dark Wall is a legend in his own mind.
  • De Villo Sloan

OK, we'll see if DW will come out of hiding to do more for "DK - Mail-art Star." Don't spread it around but Laura Penn is Groot Suster who is a character based on Cheryl - but any connection between persons living or dead is coincidental. This is fiction - like ALL of it - including us, I guess.
  • De Villo Sloan

Groot Suster is Afrikaans for Big Sister (sort of) - kind of goes back to the Sand Police, Big Brother, The Ministry of Fun, and the fascist period of Sandpo government. You certainly remember that. DK Mail-art Star might be like "Valley of the Dolls," if you remember that.
  • De Villo Sloan

I'll look for the Erni piece. Yip, a classic tale of innocent makes it big, crashes and burns in a big way, gets back on her feet, and all she ever really wanted was love - DW is already trying to sell the movie rights.
  • De Villo Sloan

    Oh no DK! Red crabbies!

  • De Villo Sloan

Only happy endings for DK! I think we'll need Arnold to play Erni. The red crabbies are a spillover from the red monkey blog. Just wanted to share :) - no reason in particular.
