Your card came in today! I like it very much! Thank you very much! And good easter days for you!
  • De Villo Sloan

good news, sort of - Ramone & Stubbs raised enough money to buy dinner at Kentucky Fried Chicken. Ramone is wearing the trash on his head and has gotten a gig as a Buckethead impersonator. It should pay enough to repair the truck:

  • De Villo Sloan

spanging - that's what it has come too,. they won't take ramone's blood at the clinic any more for some reason
  • Andrea Jay

Hiya!  Thanks for your note!  I'm TERRIBLE on computer and can't find or figure out much of anything!  Snail mail is the water I swim in!!  Happy Easter!!!  =: ) (bunny?)
  • De Villo Sloan

I wanted you and Marie to have copies. It turned into an epic, didn't it? That was a journey. You raised so much hell about being sent to paradise... You caused such confusion over the denunciation of trashpo... but there it is. Thanks
  • De Villo Sloan

Diane, any word from Stubbs and Ramone? Looks like MIA. They had their hearts set on watching Roadkill with you. Due to translation problems, they think the movie is ABOUT you. I'm somplace where I can't watch it tonight. I'm sure it will be re-run.
  • De Villo Sloan

Austin Wills sent me this alien asemic writing. The next thing I know I'm surrounded by blinding lights. I lost some time here somewhere. What day is this?

I am glad you heard from Ramone and Stubbs. I'm thinking this Roadkill III thing is a huge opportunity. I'm working on the script.

  • De Villo Sloan

Diane, that is seriously too bad. I am always looking for trash movies that have the potential to be elevated to art. Sounds like Roadkill doesn't make it. Stubs and Rayman are still in Elgin then? Easter is a rough time for Stubs with all the ham dinners. I do think they usually try to make mass and confession before they hit the bars. You know, they tried cell phones. But Stubs would swallow the phone. It was like the croc thing in Peter Pan, I think. Stubs swallows the phone and you can hear it ringing in his belly. That can mess up a twister opponent. Tell them to head for NY when you're done with them.

Little Shiva (Belgium) posted the original Ministry of Fun collage at Open Fluxus. She calls it a relic. Have a look if you're over there.
  • De Villo Sloan

I thought you belonged to Open Fluxus. I'll try to find a link, but it's in most popular photos. Interesting thing is that the Ministry of Fun was something she found in New York City - turns out she didn't invent it. No big deal - a tiny piece of history. Our Ministry of Fun owes everything to Little Shiva. Thanks
  • De Villo Sloan

I'm pretty sure I can find a link to the Ministry of Fun. Don't strain yourself getting up from the sofa or risk damaging your nails by pressing the keyboard. I'll give you the link later.
  • De Villo Sloan

Here's a link. You can find M o F if you scroll down. I'd suggest looking at her partner Thierry Tillier too, but he seems to scare the hell out of everyone. Shiva does good collage work

  • De Villo Sloan

Stubs was trying to make Sandpo. And sometimes he makes a little extra posing with tourists.
  • De Villo Sloan

Little Shiva and Thierry Tillier are known in mail-art and beyond. I'm totally awed by the collage work. In fact, I can't think of any people better working today, IMHO.

Hi Diane! I got your card today thanks so much & I love the texture!
  • Lesley Magwood Fraser

Glad you like my card and it arrived safely. And for the friend request - I thought we were friends already!

Diane, I have never gone out looking for trashpo before. Today was beautiful outside and I stopped for a few minutes to see if I could find any collage material outside of Arby's. DK - in the first five minutes I found a $20.00 bill! I kid you not. Does this ever happen to you? Maybe Trashpo = Cashpo
  • De Villo Sloan

I couldn't believe the amount. I doubt that will happen again
  • De Villo Sloan

This is great - this morning you label me a chauvinist. Now that you know I have a $20 bill in my pocket I'm suddenly your friend.
  • De Villo Sloan

    cashpo

  • John M. Bennett

    hi diane

yep i thought yr laminated bubblewrap was pretty cool.  lamination of just about anything add a whole new dimension to it...

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Thank you, diane, for the trashpo...all in plastic, really does add a "whole new dimension". when I stand it up for the photo, it looks looks it is floating!

And HOW did it get through the US postal service with GREEK stamps, hmmm?

Great...even an old, cancelled, 1982, 22cent, cat-stamp! (that I once sent in a package of a hundred or so to Valentine Mark Herman who may have then sent 20 or so in a collage to you which you then sent to me... which I shall send again to Valentine Mark Herman...who-lives-in-the-house-that-Jack-built..... ;-)

Finding $20 when you're dumpster diving is like winning the lottery in the mail-art world. That $20 has made my life miserable. I was better off when I didn't have it. So I gave it to Ramone & Stubs. Stubs is talking about buying a trailer and giving you the life you deserve. Crazy stuff..

Now hey, we got us a situation. Did you use a real John Bennett grocery list in your collage or is it fake John Bennett grocery list. I thought it was the next big thing in mail-art and started blabbing. Now I have some explaining to do in the asemic group. What happened?

  • El Taller de Zenon

Hello Diane, The idea that more we like is to work on the paper provided that today it is not difficult to find where to print, a friend, a papershop, a bookshop...

Have you seen other calls ours?

     Greetings

  • De Villo Sloan

yip, stubs and ramone are movin' on up. and could you believe they still have $$$ to burn after buying this fancy new rig? heading your way i would guess to show you they did good

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Thank you, Diane! This is two in two days! And this trashpo is really gritty, and made it through the post with just a few tears! 'Like the No.6....you are the Trashpo Queen!

  • De Villo Sloan

right, and don't let them know you know where the money came from. stubs wants you to think he's "back on top" in the ruthless world of Twister
  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Yes, DK, the"tears" and the "tears"....(.English is a fascinating language!)
  • De Villo Sloan

The Nevermind is here. You could asked to be pardoned for Trashpo. He's boycotting China or oranges or something. It's the closest thing you'll get to a blessing from Ray himself.
  • De Villo Sloan

I think RR is actually taking a stand on something important in China. I'm so lame. I meant to say Roadkill. I remember he took a stand about Roadkill in the Recycling group. I do think he likes you. Oh, and I saw the note about your recent success. Congrats. I'm jumping on the DK bandwagon and doing a vispo documentary on your meteoric rise to success.

  • De Villo Sloan

dk - just glad u like. do whatever you like wid it. u know a copy is coming your way 2, eventually. no secrets here - u know w/ a lot of these colleges i'm experimenting with some pretty good ink for the splattering. my tool - eyedropper (a weeper). this time i used white ink. effect does seem fairly cool - like parts of it have disappeared?

this is 2 help my frenemy de villo lose your chauvinist label - i consider it feminist art, its kinda the whole history of women's repression & their liberation despite the patriarchy as told through the achievements of one woman artist - dk. it's the dk story

  • De Villo Sloan

of, ^ you see the tarot card, "The World"
  • De Villo Sloan

You saw "The World" - good. Stubs and Ramone are more the oil tycoon types. The have talked about drilling again w/ gases prices & all. Stubs had a bad experience with methane gas when he tried to cash in on that, though
  • De Villo Sloan

wow, dvs & i had chinese last night. so that's where the fortunes came from (extra cookies). and one of the fortunes says "the world' in it which was opened after the tarot card went on - how's that for randomness? the ironing board is from an old Girl Scout manual I found - so much good stuff in there, don't know what I'll do when i use it up. and that's a cheerleader from a 1950s Catholic school yearbook i found. REALLY glad you got what's going on. unfortunately, a little encouragement probably mean a "life of dk 2" dvs lives near me.
  • De Villo Sloan

DK - great point - and I have been digging into male culture stuff too - I have been looking at hunting and fishing mags, car mags. Nothing has really grabbed me yet. Is it because male culture is still dominant? Nevermind speaks some other language constructed of puns and obscure references. That is definitely part of the mail-art thing going back to Ray Johnson. I think it's pretty fascinating.
  • Wilma Duguay

    Hi Diane,

    How are you?

  • De Villo Sloan

gender role stuff is a great area. no question you can find plenty of male role modeling in that material too. i guess it's more to the point where i'm trying to find something that works for me personally in terms of images. i have been digging into biker stuff because i've known bikers - and it's macho and it's my opinion that the role of women - well, it's just exploitive. don't think i've found it yet. thanks for discussing
