Wow! right on..Cavafy sings to my very soul...when I was young I read him in English, but now :-) 'tis amazing in Greek. (and even better when sailing to Ithaca)...though, as you understand, the journey is the thing, to get there is your ultimate goal, but don't rush the journey.... Na'σαι καλά!

  • De Villo Sloan

Dear Bifidus, your message is like a warm spring breeze on this February morning. We must, we MUST find time to confer, epecially concerning the Haptic Front and the developments of Sandpo via Katerina. You know I am eagerly awaiting your chapter as there is always a gap when you are not part of the conversation. I must stay current on the Brooklyn project. I do like dedicating things to people as it often acknowledges influence and inspiration. On a more practical level, the poet Jack Spicer said: "Always dedicate your poem to someone. That way you know you will have at least one reader." Regards, I am  studying your Eduardo blog - nice one!
  • John M. Bennett

Thanks for your comment, Bifidus -

    Howdy Bifidous !

    Thanks very much - I'm delighted !

Yes, I thought that in pre-archeological eras they might use ancient forms of orthography - so I adopted 'Ff' from Europe's oldest living language & the letter 'w' ( the long vowel "oo").

Btw Ff is what is called a compound letter in Welsh (pronounced "f") (whereas Welsh 'f' makes the sound "v")

I loved the wonderful shape Katerina used for 'w' too.

Bonjour M. Bifidus! Thanks for your latest creation -- the 'Valentine Snapshots' were a special treat. I think Valentine postcards are still sold in the UK. and all that modern music stuff.

I liked the Scmitt Music Company buidling -- great painting on the wall. I have no idea what the score is from, have you? Sorry to hear about your failed organ+piano+violin career, but hope that you can at least work a CD player.

I'll be mailing youn something next week.

    Thanks again and regards, Val

    His Satanic Majesty de Sigean acknowledges receipt of the photo of the Queen of the Pickled Evensongs, Clementine 111;

She has been added to the Royal Wedding Mailing List.

The photo card was interesting: I save them, especially the smaller versions (about ATC size) and have got some great ones from the UK, France and Austria. Often the information on the back of the card about the photographer is more interesting than the portraiture on the front.

Have you been reading about the problems that the Duke of York has been having in his role as Trade Ambassador? It's quite obvious to me that he's spent too much time looking after the financial interests of his Duchess, and too little time consuming Yorkie bars.

    Thanks again for the card.

    Regards, Val

  • Lesley Magwood Fraser

Thanks Bifidus for the wishes, I am loving hearing from all my new IUOMA friends!
  • Jen Staggs

Some cheeky bastard sent me EMPTY Yorkie wrappers!!  I spent the rest of the day sniffing the envelope and grumbling to myself.  Wicked!  You are Wicked, you are!
  • Jen Staggs

He's on my list too- he keeps sending me empty promises of dinner and wine.
  • Susanna Lakner

Dear BJ, did you sent me already your "P" pages to our collab-book? ? If ""yes" when?
