I'm doing well just trying to get settled into the new place, how are things with you? Would you mind sending another doc to the new address? I'll be sure to keep an eye out for it!
Have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING in Washington State and in HeeBee JeeBee Land...where it might be having a snow storm??? Greetings from Alexander Land and I see on your blog that the "Affair" arrived and the alexander booklet, AND the Istanbul Fluxus vintage postcard! Glad you liked them. Your blog is a delight to read, I go there often and spend hours! Have a great day today!
Agapi,
Katerina
Your encouragement does me a world of good. As long as it resembles "playtime", I hope to keep doing it. My kinfolk in Spokane have 14" of snow, hope it's not too bad where you are.
happy trails,
MC
Too cool for "coincidence!
Cousins TestTower and ArtTower arrive
on the same day, same time, same place in Greece!
amazingly great cards, thank you my boys!
Hey Cat Test - Dragon Eye here - I DONT put my beady eye on sick people :-)) VERY sorry to hear you have been temporarily slain by the flu bug. Ban it to Fluxus Isle - that'll sort ANYTHING out!!! No stress, just get well x
first, i really enjoy your work! the bright, plus vintage style (with good thought behind it) is great to me.
and next, from your enquiry:
i am right now trying to translate my new flat's address into Pin Yin. i hope i will do it this week! and i will let you know as soon as i have it. i will be very pleased and inspired to see your mail!
next, i am trying a great experiment to see what the postal system will let me send. i have mailed some regular letters, 'art' cards, and also random things with stamps on them like a doorknob or a balloon. so we will see what gets through!
so i would say, for China, send something radical for fun or experiment, but anything you really want to be sure of, send in a plain envelope. also, most of the homes are in high-rise apartments, the mailbox slats are small. so i would say it is best to send something less than 5 inches wide, 3 inches tall, to make sure it gets stuffed in the box.
do not worry about what you send - unless it is something absurdly anti-Chinese gov't, there is not a problem as far as i know. there is even some prominent Chinese art which deals with gov't in contemporary viewpoints in the gallery - so i don't think mailart will be a problem for anyone. any trouble i think will be the idea of what the post office will accept as 'mail'!
agin, so very glad to have your friendship her across the lands and waters; i will send you my address this week and in the meantime begin a thing to send you too!
Hey there guy and thanks for the kind words. First off, I will for sure send out a CD to you tomorrow and thanks in advance for your mail.
As for the musics, I am kind of all over the place. The CD is a mix of the songs that I like right now, which is mostly old soul and rootsy type stuff. I'm actually listening to Patsy Cline and trying to avoid doing my real work right now. Spent the morning listening to Harry Nilssen.
I love The Sea and Cake, bascially anything that comes from that Chicago scene. If John McIntyre records it, then I listen to it. I saw Tortoise a few weeks ago in Asheville for the third time...love them.
But yes, I will send mail to you tomorrow and thanks for saying hello.
Hey Test - GLAD to hear you're mended! Thanks for posting those booklets - I have not seen Jens - its looks FAB - like all her work! REALLY looking forward to yours too - no its has not arrived yet :-( I'm sitting at the bottom of the world with only two Alexander bits - downright unfair!! I had three but Katerina's bit disappeared. She's convinced the monkeys took it. I'm thinking so too...
Thanks TT, much appreciated. You put a lot of effort into HeeBee JeeBeeland and Fluxus Affair, and it really shows. It's a great place to visit. I am looking forward to seeing some of your art for real rather than scans. Thanks for your friendship, DVS
I'm glad that you got the CD and liked. I started to make a mix that had both old and new songs on it, but then they didn't go with the older stuff. Although I like the older stuff way too much, I felt that I needed to give equal attention to the musicians making stuff right now.
Anyway, so you saw The Who in 67? Uhh that must have been awesome. I have to admit that I don't really like The Who. I think there studio music isn't all that great, the production value kills the teeth, but Live at Leeds...amazing. All rock records should sound like that one even ones recorded in the studio.
Yes, I'm a big Chocalate Watchband fan but I'm not too sure they turned into Strawberry Alarmclock...anyway, that era of music is probably my favorite. I've lately gotten into a lot of world version of psych and garage and put a little of that on the mix that I sent out. Afrobeat and Highlife have been ruling my listening as well as Brazilian Tropicalia.
Looking forward to the CD and to new mail. I'm thinking about a new mix and if I end up getting t off the ground, I'll for sure send you one. Back to finishing up the semester.
hey Test - dont know if you got my message on Alexandrians? Your booklet arrived - THANK YOU! AND the first ATC I have ever received - I'm inspired :-) I am making a series - you will get the first. Thanks for that.
Hi Test, thanks for the add. I love your art pov=and your humor. Your cotton picking cat looks just ferocious enough to be respected. What is a cat without a little piece of scrap in them? Have a good New Year--gonna send you some mail art this week if you don't mind
STOP the presses, Test! no need to send me, yout Alexander came in today's mail! (along with christmas cards from relatives in the States, postmarked Dec. 10 and 13th! ) Must have been in the holiday stcks of mail! Many thanks!
You might recognize this: (The first time I went I was dumb enough to pay admission. This time (June 2010) I was smart enough to just appreciate the building.)
ps)I was about 7 or 8 in that other photo. Mom just happened to send it to me a few weeks ago. Perhaps I should have photoshopped a dangling price tag.
Hey there! Thanks for stopping by and leaving your link! I'll be sure to stop by your place here shortly. Sounds like you've got a lot going on where you blog. Seeya! ("Possumville" makes me smile) :D
;-) I was able to send you a "365" and a "Valentine" and a "Fluxus Affair"...3 in one! Glad to hear it arrived in HeeBee JeeBee Land! (You don't have snow like Chicago, do you?) Take care! xxx
Hey, there! Just had to add a proviso (as per one of the staff over at the postal outlet our gang gets its mass mail from), which I've just now added to the address portion of my profile here. Hope I've caught you in time! If not, we'll keep in touch with the post office just in case there's any confusion.
Beginning to ruminate on my first ever IUOMA mail art, the one you'll receive not too far off.
Heebie those Jeebies for me! (Is that out of Satchmo's classics album?)
