Hi Samantha.
Nice to see you are a real person - I do get some funny emails, ha, ha. Follow member Denis Charmot to his site where he lists project calls.
Or www.mail-art/de is where I found my first project and they explain things very well for the beginner. Find a theme that appeals to you, make a postcard and send it off. Welcome aboard, I will send you something...
hola samantha! i find the quickest way to enjoy this network, is to send out some mail art and see what happens. usually you'll get some way awesome mail art in return and sometimes can form some super fun friendships and connections in the process of sharing mail art back and forth...
as to how i got started - i got my mail art start as a child sending some of my art to penpals and friends, making my own stationary and envelops. i didn't know it was mail art at the time. later i was trading art with other artists, making the package more intricate than the art itself. then i got introduced to blogland and expanded my network of people i could trade with, then this network here.
i'm a pinch behind returning some mail art and also working on an art project that will soon be shared here... so if you want to get started how about you send me something? and i'll return the gesture...
