Wow - that's weird! I'm here checking it out and it shows up fine on my monitor. I'll try again. I've made it a bit smaller in case size was an issue :)
Hello Judy!

I shall be sending an art work or two their way. Also Aphrodite Karamanli will send something to Croatia. She sends you her greetings and thanks you for the art work you sent for Mail Art 2009 Greece to SKETBE.

Thank you, Judy. You were one of the very, very first to sent art to Mail Art 2009 Greece. And it would be great if you could come to Greece for the exhibit in December! Aphrodite sends her greetings,
Always,
Katerina
I'll have to relay that thought to Aphrodite! Isn't that a lovely name to be baptized with? This "Aphrodite", is now secretary of SKETBE (2002-2004 she was with the Olympics Art Exhibit in Stavroupoli). She is very active with art and art exhibits, and now I have her involved with mail art. And she doesn't have a computer!!! But she will do fine.
And we look forward to an amazing exhibit in December.
Take care,
Katerina
Judy, judy, Judy,
You are going to travel to Jordan and spectacular Petra!
Have a great trip...and does not the plane stop in Athens for a night or two? I shall be traveling, also. Going south to Athens and will be there Oct. 10-18...'could meet at the airport :-)
Take lots and lots of pics!
Katerina

Thanks for the pic of Jordan "moonscape"! Very barren territory,eh? I lived for two years in Istanbul and often traveled inland to eastern Turkey. The same: dry, rock, desert...barren landscape. And a woman's life there, too, is "covered", though a bit more liberal than most muslim countries. Still, not an easy place to live for a single-female-infidel-of-the-West.
True, true, Judy,
women are not in too many "out-of-the-home" jobs.
I know in Saudi Arabia, women are not allowed to drive.
Even now, when I visit Turkey, I go with a tour group...
great place to visit....but
Thank you, Judy, for your kind words and support. The executive board of SKETBE will meet on Tuesday, Dec. 8th and see some proposals for fund raising and getting a new roof-over-our heads! I'll let you know what they decide.
I'm thinking of collecting small art work from the artists here at IUOMA who would like to send and donate to SKETBE, to use as SKETBE wishes.
Maybe an auction...or a "fire sale"...or print up calendars/posters/T-shirts to sell. We'll see...I'll keep you iniformed as it goes.
Many thanks,
Katerina
