David has sent me a package that promises "Hours and Hours of Fun Enclosed" and he was NOT lying. The game has revolutionized our family game night and we have caught our kids playing it at night long after they should be asleep. Chateauroux translates as "Better than a Ouijia Board". I send David a piece of blank canvas and this is his genius response. I will always be convinced that David is famous and I know that I am not worthy to receive his mail art, but I'm glad I do.This is the first ever DKult Industries product to be released since the merger. David was always the man to create the packaging
Monkey Sloth Squid....yeah, that's what I was goin for...(use Jon Lovitz voice here)
Actually my art is (such as it is) is totally dependent on happy accidents. Consequently "going with the flow" is essential. I've been toying with the idea of reducing my dependence on happy accidents by 40% but after crunching the numbers scientists tell us that would mean I would need to live another 80 years (to develop the necessary skill sets etc) which would mean drinking a lot more kiwi juice. We're still running the computer models to study the feasibility based my learning rates and life extension technologies. The result: Under ideal conditions I should be able to draw a squid with intention by the time I'm 89. Under less ideal circumstances I would be able to start drawing a squid monkey sloth (with intention) at 76.
Aha...So the snake card was part of a sort-of story. What a charmer; it was heart warming even if not part of a story. Maybe someone can say who the tractor driver is (or submarine driver, or giant-acorn driver?). Is that YOU, David? I really like what he's doing:
I think David's claiming that his art is unintentional for the most part, is completely intentional. He saw his drawings do not have meaning, yet we know the complexity of David's mind; therefore know there is ALWAYS a hidden meaning. I think if all of David's art was assembled into a flip book, it would contain something not unlike the Dada Vinci Code
Excellently put, Diane. You captured him. Intentional/unintentional, there is always a hidden meaning. Plus usually some delightfully what-it-looks-like aspects. He's a rare bird.
This piece was a huge hit at David's Gallery Debut. There were rumors, which David would neither confirm or devy, that these were really cleverly veiled squid painted in squid ink
I'm gonna try to post it this weekend along with the ton o stuff I received in the last month and a half...She thanked all of us for keeping her in the loop.
How much did you get? Probably more than the around 56 cents Diane sold a John Bennett shopping list for on ebay. It was worth more, and you probably got more for the Martin photo from David.
The market for Milner is red hot at the moment because of reports that he fell at a Bob's Big Boy in Glendale. Some said it was booze, some said it was his prostate medicine, some said there was ice water on the floor and anybody would have slipped but the fact is he fell and he broke his ankle. We're waiting on pins and needles to see if/when his temp starts rising. When he hits 99.4f the market is going to go apeshit. Don't say I didn't warn you.
See, if it weren't for IUOMA, not many of us would know what David has educated us about here regarding Martin Milner. I feel deeply in your debt, David, because I stopped getting my gossip from Parade magazine a number of years ago and have been quite a lot dumber ever since. Thank you ... truly!
My job is provide you with tasty morsels of pop culture in bite-size digestible chunks. No sticky mess. No gummy aftertaste. Just the pure gristle you want and crave. And, in a way, we do a great service for the forgotten celeb who's age has shoved them from the stage but still give good copy when they're gliding in a gurney down the corridor that leads to death's door. Anyone can find something on Brangelina but what about Lionel Atwill and Claude Akins? What about Albert Salmi and Geraldine Brooks? These people have lots of mordant secrets that I am here to make up for you, the reader, (Nancy, in this instance).
Now that Kenneth Anger is no longer. I mean he's still alive. He's just not that angry. Well, someone, dear reader (AKA Nancy) has to step up to the plate and jump in those empty shoes which is really tricky if you have a bad knee like I do. It goes on like this for days....
The bite-size digestible chunks are very digestible and I appreciate them. Also, your logic is logical, Dave, and the aging forgotten stars gliding on their gurneys deserve your and our attention. What about Gale Storm? Maybe her gurney glided through the door already. I'll check for you.
