I'm Enchanted with David

hey KDJ, I certainly hope running this group will not keep you from your responsibiliities with DKult. David might be competing for your skills, expertise, and legal know how

Does joining this group put me further up the list for receiving Davids art? I hope so

O god now what do I do....I'm so behind already...I'm going to have to start mass producing stuff, hiring staff...getting into Warhol-type fights with the archivists over authenticity...a can of worms.....which, for me, is a good thing....

All I can say, David, is don't mass produce any pictures of pregnant women or that can of worms will come alive and Eat your Face.

I am sooo excited about this group- I have tons of Stafford originals I can post here to keep us entertained while David is busy.  His works are each so creatively conceived (*I'm still not pregnant*) and personal!  I'll post images asap.

OK, well then one of my pride-and-joys is this David Stafford typewriter piece. I think it took him 20 years to complete it, and I'm determined it won't be forgotten.

I can see how you might compare David and Erni. But David isn't a US version of Erni the way DK is like Little Shiva (Trash Baby, Belgium) (I'm not saying one is more original than the other). I greatly value my pulverized Llingdo sausage can from Erni with f___kscrawled on it, but we're talking about two very different kinds of geniuses.

Do you guys give away free D-Koder rings or free stuff to members?

So good to see that typewriter again. A few months ago it led to or was involved in some extremely nostalgic-with-substance talk here. It sparked a fairly serious ebay search on my part, but the ending was not a happy one. Not unhappy either. That's a wonderful piece, I'm glad you posted it again.

David and/or Erni: Artistic variety, I'm all for it. Same person can be drawn to who knows how many different styles of art and being. If David has any velvet or Elvis or velvet Elvis works, I'm sure he'll post them ... ... ...

I'm just not sure how to respond to all this kindness....it really made my therapist happy though...I said, "now, it will be even more difficult to do cool things." She said, "can't you just accept it and move on" "Oh, no," I said, "that is so not my style." "I'm going to up your dosage," she said.

I hope to be enchanted with David. His Dodge Dart reminded me of a car my father owned that I just hated as a teen. I didn't realize it was going to be cool. I will have to send him something so perhaps I'll experience him.

Not even 24 hours from whence this group was creatively conceived (of course Jen is here) and look what's happening! Great idea KDJ, with or without the DKoder rings. Now let's see what is here in Greece from dear David ( not a stash like I have from Erni...but super stuff nontheless ;-)

Nadine, doesn't it make you wonder what we have Right Now that will be cool in the future? If you think about it too much, though, you can't sleep.

Ok, I do have a stash from David...wonderful old 1950's TIME magazines ;-)

I agree, Nancy, but THE most precious from David was the "Sandpo Girl". she is a silhouette of sandpaper...very Haptic. But the BEST was on the flip side, my own "award". David is SUPER!!!

One I keep on my desk- David's Thumb print Self-Portrait is one of my daily smiles!  I took lots of pics of several pieces but they all turned out blurry, so I'll retake and post pics asap.  Off to go cook for Thanksgiving. 

This one was info David found on my blog, Teas-o-Rama.  It was AMAZINGLY spot-on, I still remember the goosebumps it gave me!!

I love that quote....it deserves to be on a monument somewhere....maybe at the base of a huge bronze thumb covered with pigeon ink....

That is a great quote, Jen--I just wrote it into my sketchbook. I too make zero effort to wash off ink and paint stains before leaving the house. Always thought it was due to laziness, but now I know better thanks to you.

I sent out a few cards representing the pagan faction of the Erni Bar Fan Club. I saw a need and your popularity extends to a diverse group of people.I'm not sure any connections were made except by me in my own mind:)

reminds me of when I was a kid and got shipped to my grandparents in Florida for the summers. My biggest delight came when my grandpa got pulled over for going to slow on the freeway.
