26 Boxes, an Envelope &

A 26 week postal dance being  choreographed by mail - with the intent to cross art forms and metaphors.

On 26 December 2020, there were 26 named boxes waiting to be filled, emptied, refilled, delivered, maybe thrown away. 24 were sent out in envelopes. 21 have been returned. Some are moving back and forth in proper correspondancing style.

On 30 March 2021, the project entered its second half. Please see below for updates if you are interested in taking part at this latter stage.

Documentation takes place initially on the 5 Foot Storyhouse blog. Confirmation has been received for holding physical exhibitions. If you would like to take part, please see below for latest updates, or just get in touch.

Oh, what an interesting and neat project, Jennifer. My boxes are very different and I really do not have a map in mind. There are more than 26, 28, 32 back stories and gaps in and around my boxes. It all started with one original hand sewn book that I created in response to a response to my envelope 26.

  • Mel Anie

What if I pull the rug out first? What happens to the boxes?

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

'Be nice to have Box 16 :-)

Those who know me, know why!

    (Especially Mariano at "Blue Roads")

See you in the mail one day, Mel Anie,

IF and WHEN the mail comes through...sigh.

  • Mel Anie

16 is yours then, Katerina, do you want me to send it via the Blue Roads? PS.  I think my mail to you should have got out of the UK. But maybe this one will overtake it (except I haven't made it yet!).

  • Francis Lammé

    Positively intriguing. I want in!

  • Mel Anie

Fabulous, Francis. Is there a particular box number you would like?

  • Francis Lammé

    19 is my first choice, 3, 5, 6, 7, 12, 15, 26 close second

  • Mel Anie

    For you, Francis, 19. ;)

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

    Thanks Mel Anie,

send 16 via snail mail...I think it should arrive safely in Greece (just cannot predict "when") 'Luv Blue!

  • Mel Anie

Assembling has begun. I have interrupted it because Royal Mail says 'go' & now it's breaking down (because what if I'm dead by then?). The box list has been updated, & the little black number blue me looking glass towards envelopes.

  • Mel Anie

Some got mailed out today. Best foot - or worst foot - forward - or back?

  • Mel Anie

Six more sitting, waiting for tomorrow.
