A group with information for newcomers to the IUOMA. Some hints and tips written by VHM and BJ to help you find your way at the IUOMA platform. For mentor of the Month we are always looking for volunteers.
Add/Passes can be fun and interesting, but many artists don't know what to ADD, so they PASS on doing them all together.
Here are some things I add. I keep special adds ready to glue on:
1. I have special labels that I make on my printer and glue on. I usually make the label with a photo and my address. It's my simple add.
2. I do vintage collage, so I use a lot of images from vintage mags. I find the ads very whimsical, so I cut out a bunch of ads and keep them in a special bin. I glue them on the add/pass and then affix my address label as a way of signing.
3. Some Add/Passes ask you to "altar" or literally "add" to an existing photo on the add/pass. I do that either by drawing or gluing something on. Then I sign on the back.
Add/Passes are also a great way to meet other mail artists, who may not necessarily be on IUOMA.
