I once sent a video demo to Courtney Love when she was looking for a new band; I was hoping to get a rejection letter (it was hysterically bad). I think I posted it on YouTube.
  • DKeys

I think it's survival of the fittest-one down improves our odds:)
  • DKeys

  • DKeys

nah, he grew out of it:)
  • DKeys

Louis I want to hear more about this demo video are you in a band?
  • Louise Kiner

No, I never got the rejection letter. Pity. Here's the link though:

    http://youtu.be/K2r3HJlnGdA

It's only 15 seconds long and defintely done with tongue planted firmly in cheek.

Someone really hated it though. Lol!

  • DKeys

That's hilarious Louise. I didn't think it was 'rubbish' at all
  • Louise Kiner

Thanks, Diane. The guy who made the comment is a bit of a "troll". He comments on how he hates  my videos ( I'm only glad to be irritating him so much.).

  • DKeys

he took the time to write so there must be something that draws him in spite of himself
  • i don't know who it is angie!

it was on the cover of mf.

    i think it's a magazine?

but no idea who she is.

the zebra strips are nice, but i agree she does look seriously Fucked Up.

  • he's probably in love with you.

that's the sort of thing i do to my crushes! ;-D

  • Louise Kiner

    Yikes. That's a frightening thought, isn't it?

Anyway, glad you all got a laugh out of it. I know it has nothing to do with zombies, well, except that I was pretty sleep deprived and therefore zombie-like ;0)

  • you'd make a great zombie rock star.

just get a good makeup artist!

  • gaga has a crush on zombie boy.
  • i can artistic styles following the model of the snow monkeys, as well as any other mimicry. but i don't know if it's really viral. i think viral would be more of an increasing exponential spread. at least that's how i envision it?

i've talked a bi with DVS before about the future of art; and it's never possible to really say what the future will be like, but i like to entertain the idea that visual creativity will eventually hit the mobile world in some form or another similar to texting. some form of texting with pictures. but not just photographs, but modifiable pictures. like this wonderful piece from diane:

or the wonderful "land web art" from bruno cassaglia:

i think if people start communicating through the use of this sort of simply modified pictures, it would create a huge tidal wave in the world we call art.

but technologies are always coming and going, and very few "stick." and all of it is quite hit or miss, so who can say?

as it is, i think google has technology for group art done over the net, if i'm correct? it might be worth playing with sometime - but that would belong more in my FREE ART group than here.

my main point is so off track i can't find it anymore but something to do with art and virii, if anyone can find it in my messed up train of thought! ;-D

  • PIRO

Ohhhhh at last the blood is droping, thanks for helping the zombie out. lol
  • oh, yah i had him crooked for a while there.

    sorry about that!

  • i actually played this game in a demo a week or two before it came out:

  • I was talking with amanda about the food phobia thing, then got on the track of the exponential growth/spread thing and how the water model doesn't really fit that, but it does kind of match with the survivalist sort of mentality that you see in zombie lit. - the few who survive against the many who perish. anyways, she brought up the BPA scare, and how you see NO BPA on nearly every plastic container anymore, and i think that although you have the same sort of basic idea as with your water model, it has "caught on" and had a viral sort of spread, whereas the water thing is really not in the mainstream ( no pun intended :).
  • Mark Spitz Versus the Undead!!!!!

    VS.

  • i can't wait for october!!!
  • apparently there is a local band called the "surf zombies."

i've never seen them play, but it seems they have a decent following!

    they're playing downtown this weekend,

as i'm not really into music, i'll have my daughter go and let you all know if they are worth your time!

SH Erni Bar-code zombie arrived today! Thankfully I figured out how all the pieces fit together with your handy arrows:) I finished my bit in the zombiepedia but who do I know to send to that you haven't already sent to. Anyone want to receive it?
  • it's ok if people get more than one, each piece will eventually have 12 sigs on it, and each one will be unique anyhow, just find someone who wants to play.
  • there's a ton of these out there right now, so i expect there will be several people who get hit more than once.
  • Marcia Cirillo (Fifi LePew)

you can send it to me, Diane. And I'll be posting asemic #3 to you soon.

  • DKeys

  • ok, so we live in a city with a very definitive class split.

west side and east side; with very noticable differences

between the west side where there is a lot more

"higher class" folks and the east side which is far less

"refined," but even further than that, there is the east

side and the south east side. we happen to live in the

south east side, which is something of a dumping ground

for the poor, the folks that have housing assistance,

    the welfare types.

and thinking more about social paranoias,

and also more recently about the class divide,

i thought i could combine the two here,

and bring up the social paranoia of the lower class.

i think, among the middle -> upper class

there is a strong fear of the lower classes

encroaching in upon their territory; their turf.

it is especially prevalent when it comes to their

    children and their children's schooling.

people are afraid to put their children

with the children of the lower class.

i think this sort of fear of the lower class

could definitely be mapped onto zombies,

    especially with the economy as it is;

and we are talking about taking away many

of their social programs, which they use

to keep themselves afloat. what will happen

if we take away what little they have?

    my 2c on a sunday morning. ;-D
