PO Box 1274
Berkeley, CA 94804
USA
This is a call on behalf of Roberta James, another artist turning 80 (in November!) - I did the first Artist Turns 80 call for my Mom about 4 years ago.
You can send artistamps on any theme which seems appropriate - either by snail mail or via email: carlacryptic@yahoo.com
I will make documentation for all who participate and will send all of the original artwork to Berti (Roberta's nickname) to honor her birthday. Themes of aging, art, changes, time, perseverence, anger, joy, etc. are all welcome.
Carla Cryptic - Goodwill Ambassador
Carla Cryptic has become an Artistamp Museum Goodwill Ambassador. As many of you know she is an avid maker of artistamps and mail artist - her Web site is at www.carlacryptic.com . This list will include names, post name and/or pseudonym, mailing address and email address. If you contributed to the museum please contact her with your current contact information and subsequently notify her of any changes. I want to thank everyone who has been so supportive of this project,
Ginny
my project for 2011 is now up and running and looks like becoming quite obsessive. it is not quite a mail-art project, more of a collaborative artist book cum mini archive.
i have recently found an old stamp album with smart red covers and over a hundred usable pages. i am going to try and make a small but nice collection of interesting and curious stamps including all sorts of artistamps from the glamorous full colour, gummed and perfed jobs to the humble home-made photocopy or rubber-stamp printed types. stamps from fantastic or imaginary countries, dada, fluxus or "pop" art types, found stamps, in short, any sort of artistamp that can be imagined. i am even including the occasional real" stamps if they seem to fit such as ones that use images by surreal or dada artists and similar. the collection, like "real" stamp collections will also, hopefully, include used examples of stamps on cover, first day covers and all sorts of interesting postal markings and cancels.
to go along with this i am producing a few stamps of my own which will be available for exchange.
at the moment the project is being documented by scans of finished - or near finished pages being uploaded into a special album in the "my photos" section of this site.
i hope that many if not all of you will contribute and help make the collection into something marvelous.

Eroticism always had been one of the motors of human being ¿Is it still a
motor at the present time? ¿Was it affected by the actual global
crisis? Consider the option to work about eroticism as a theme in all
the possible ways, the requiered size is suitable to develop it, and it
will be interesting to prove how the actual crisis is affecting
eroticism in connection with Postal Art.
Apologies in advance for this long post. A huge thank you goes out to the supporters of this museum and the blog. So many contributions came in since the last announcement and it was wonderful AND daunting to see the mail pile grow. If you are a blog FOLLOWER, then you are making a contribution to this blog by helping to move it nearer the top of the “stamp” search, above more commercial blogs,
Major additions and updates in the PAGES section have taken place since the last notice went out. You can find links, historical articles, and artist works info.
The following contributors have been inducted into the Gina Lotta Post Artistamp Museum - later in November:
I recently ran across a few places online from which one may learn or buy products for, the making of sheets of artistamps. While none of my group have tried this process before, and most remainuninterested, I myself would love to begin this process.
Could there be a primer, or tutorial online which I might find useful? I'm particularly interested in using PSE8 as the main tool.
Thank you for your support of this museum and the blog. So many of you are followers, In February I added photos and a video of “Snowfall Mail Art - Fluxus Score with Stamps” by Andrew Oleksiuk Performed at Chicago Fluxfest – 2011. This is a fun performance and you should take a look if you haven’t seen it.
An effort was made to compile a contact list for all of the artistamp contributors but this became an overwhelming project in of itself and has been put on an indefinite hold. If you are looking for artists' addresses or wish to get into contact with anyone you can use Fraenz Frisch's address list at http://www.mailart.lu/adressen.htm This resource has the mechanism to update contact changes and is devoted to this purpose.

Well that large type is a bit overwhelming - just couldn't get it out.
This is an open call for photos of artistampers. It can be a stand alone photo or part of your stamps. Please post them at the Gina Lotta Post Artistamp Museum's new Facebook Page. They'll become part of the museum collection so be sure to describe your post.
If you do not use Facebook, please mail your photo to: PO Box 1424, Jupiter, FL 33468
My stamps thus far have been done up by Anna Banana. For the moment I won’t be perfing so I will go with the drawn version I made in Illustrator. I know it’s the Year of the Rabbit in the Chinese calendar but in the Republic of Whimsy it’s the Year of the Cheshire Sun!
Don't miss getting you photo posted to the upcoming revolving slide show of artistampers. This is an open call for photos of artistampers in the artistamp museum. It can be a stand alone photo or part of your stamps.
Please post them at the Gina Lotta Post Artistamp Museum's new Facebook Page's wall. They'll become part of the museum collection so be sure to describe your post (your name or names if it is a group photo).
If you do not use Facebook, please mail your photo to: PO Box 1424, Jupiter, FL 33468. See http://artistampmuseum.blogspot.com for further directions and details.
When you look at "official" stamps they have a denomination and an issuing authority on top of the little picture. But of course, as with everything else, there are exceptions. Some are stamps, some are stickers. This is an important difference to many artistamp creators.
