Rebecca Guyver (Suffolk, UK) sent me a package that is mostly Trashpo, but one of the pieces has some nice asemic symbols: Trashemics, I guess.

Welcome Kay Steven - I was hoping you'd find this group. Beautiful asemic symbols and vispo! Thx so much for sharing.

JMB - another one of your puzzlers. Thx for never failing to stretch my mind.

Here's a page from Marie Wintzer's "Letters to Mila" - Japanese cut-ups, shades of Brion Gysin ( the Arabic/Japanese grids).

  • Dr Chris James

NBS, thanks for the Trashpo Gutai Asemics (Trashemics) and Claudia - looks as if you have made a book there.

Trashemics are everywhere. But I had to look up Gutai!

  • Claudia Garcia

These images are great, Bruno Cassaglia, John Bennett, DVS, and Nancy Bell Scott.

Yes, DVS it is an artist book sent to John Bennett

  • De Villo Sloan

In reference to Gutai - there's been so much about it lately - I am speaking specifically about work that is in the process of decomposition (not the abstract decomposition or deconstruction of Derrida) but actual decay or disintegration. NBS & JMB show signs of that. An interesting idea that asemics can be constructed from the disintegration of forms.

  • John M. Bennett

some great stuff from everyone here!

  • Nancy Bell Scott

"An interesting idea that asemics can be constructed from the disintegration of forms" sets off fireworks in the brain. Easy to recognize in disintegration, but actually to construct from it...think I know what I'll dream about tonight.

Received a great piece of asemic-vispo from Matt Stolte in Wisconsin, USA. Blogged with commentary here:

  • De Villo Sloan

Claudia, thanks for your contributions to the group and your enthusiasm.

Carl Baker is known in the vispo community, but I did not learn about his work until a few years ago via Karen Champlin right here at the IUOMA. I've been a fan ever since. I have another set I'll blog in the next week.

  • Claudia Garcia
