    Asemic tree of life,-DVS.

  • De Villo Sloan

Hadn't thought of a tree, Neil.

Kerri compressed abt. 200 yrs. of Western art into that postcard, definitely. I think some past life regression too.

  • John M. Bennett

3-way collab: Jim Leftwich, Baron, John M. Bennett

  • Neil Gordon

    Beautiful 3way! Asemically-icious!

  • Guido Vermeulen

Reminds me - M-L was thrilled to receive a piece from C. Mehrl using the erasure or text reduction concept/textile asemics, etc.

Mail-art by C. Mehrl Bennett (Columbus, Ohio, USA)

  • Neil Gordon

    Nice Mynxus poetry DVS!

  • Guido Vermeulen

Winged Man by Meg Taney, shifted so you can also see the face made of the white

  • De Villo Sloan

I saw the Meg Taney piece in the IUOMA gallery - very nice. Thanks for sharing it here also, Guido.

  • Kerri Pullo

    Snowsemics

  • De Villo Sloan

Kerri, snow in Arizona. Once every 10,000 years? Take care of yourself.

But wow, asemics based on crystalline structures. Gread idea! Not exactly eco-asemics, well maybe, Great concept.

    Now on to bio-asemics.

  • Guido Vermeulen

HAIR ASECMICS amongst books, a funny shot from over the back of my head, All that grey silver hair is mine! If I were a rich man ....

  • Neil Gordon

    Snowsemics! Yeah! stay warm Kerri!

Hairsemics Guido: Silver on the head means more wisdom!!!!

Am making a set of brushes from my Feb alphabet (mailart 365 thing) and got side-tracked experimenting with the upside down lantern J.

  • De Villo Sloan

Miss Becca, I was just reading Bill Berkson was selected for Paul Hoover's postmodern poetry anthology along with Allen Ginsberg, John Cage & the other great luminaries. Refined company indeed for Bill Berkson. And I-Ron Man lamenting how Aram Saroyan shouldn't have been left out. Gossp. Gossip. Good thing mail-art is not like that.

  • Rebecca Guyver

Good thing DVS. Speaking of intrigue, what can you tell me about Grigori?

  • De Villo Sloan

"Hell of a guy." See my recent M-L posting (Richard Canard ma, but not about RC) concerning Fake Ray Johnson Episode in Japan - 2010.

Send something to G-Man. My opinion doesn't really matter.

  • De Villo Sloan

Welcome to the artists who have recently joined the group. I hope you'll share your asemic work here, join discussions and/or ask questions, and trade mail-art with other asemic writers. You can find addresses in the members list.

I want to let everyone know that Diane Keys - a graduate of our own Martha Stuart School of Asemic Wallpaper - has had her first full-length collection of Trashpo published by MinXus-Lynxus. This includes the collabs with Ficus strangulensis. Some of the work in "Vessels of Love" is definitely asemic.

You can read or download the book for free on Scribd:

  • Neil Gordon

JM & JMB: Very Flowing asemic; a Semitic asemic!

  • De Villo Sloan

    Asemic calligraphy with plastic comb

  • De Villo Sloan

Thanks all - really great to see the JMB & Leftwich collabs - two different styles that mesh flawlessly, IMHO.

Wow Kerri - when I go into the enlarge I can really see the bits of text working with your symbols.

The Linda Vinck is gorgeous - lucky you, Guido. Thanks for posting that.

I hope the group encourages people to exchange. I would love to be able to post more asemic work at MinXus-Lynxus, so please send when you can.

  • John M. Bennett

I like this comb piece, De Villo - cool

  • Guido Vermeulen

Artist book 16 pages of collaborations between Kerry Pullo and I

  • Neil Gordon

WoW! So colorful, free flowing and magical! Great work!

    The Asemic Rorschach test!

  • Christopher Skinner

Something new I'm working on right now...

  • De Villo Sloan

    Thanks JMB.

I go offline a few hours and look at this! Christopher what a beauty! Preview new work anytime! I've seen other examples of your presswork, typography, asemics featured elsewhere - really fantastic work.

Do folks know Michael Jacobson (the postliterate blog) has put out a call for asemic calligraphy? He and Tim Gaze are putting an anthology together. I'll try to pull a posting together.

I'm not meaning to comment on every single thing, but, wow, gosh, holy - a Kerri Pullo & Guido Vermeulen collab - there you have the meeting of two more remarkable styles and it really works. Congrats! Can't enlarge those pages though. Hope Guido has 'em blogged somewhere I can find 'em.

  • De Villo Sloan

@ Neil, if you think about, inkblots and the Rorschach are perfect for experimental asemics. People got into that during Asemics !6 too, Tremendous range here from near-classicism to "The Edge."

  • Christopher Skinner

    Thanks DVS.

This is a new asemic script I'm developing for my next book in the Four Fools Series - the first two can be viewed here and are still on sale. I hope to get book three out later in the year and this new script will feature throughout.

The sample I just posted is not actually part of the book, but another test piece to check out a number of scaling and compositional issues in print. I thought I would try it out here and see what the reaction was. Once again, thanks!

  • John M. Bennett

the guido/kerri book is a beaut!

  • De Villo Sloan

Right Chris - I saw this asemic script of yours posted or discussed on a blog and was really impressed. Yes, heck, share your tests with us!

Here is a link to Michael Jacobson's call for (correction) for asemic handwriting for his anthology. Looks like a serious endeavour and I say let them see asemics are thriving in the network:

  • De Villo Sloan

Not to be outdone by Guido (no! I tell myself, not a competition!) I submit another installment in the GASemics Series that I am working on with, yes, Kerri Pullo. This is "The Tragedy of Underground Asemic Gas Leaks." Kerri is the creator of Asemic Mom and the Amazing Asemic Baby:

  • Guido Vermeulen

Kerri and I agreed to make a second book! Some people on Fb even wanted an edition of the first one, well, I dismiss that idea, I think this is unique and has to remain unique. Also Kerri and I agreed on forwarding the book to a 3d party as a gift. I do  not revail the name here in order to not spoil the fun.

I am in crazy mood this March and produce one artist book after the other.

This is a page from CLOSER TO THE LIGHT, aha rabbit Nero becomes asemics, booklet as present to Lady Valeria who recently returned from Brasil to Belgium to be united again with husband Matias who is from Portugal. The whole shabang is to get legal papers, I frankly am and remain disgusted how this world is divided into countries and continents who are becoming fortresses and jails against «aliens». Or to repeat the slogan of the Spanish republicans: NO PASARAN (to all authorities on this beautiful planet, it is ours! OCCUPY everything and I am NOT sorry about this outburst...)

  • Guido Vermeulen

    INDIGNADOS UNITE !!!

  • Guido Vermeulen

Is it possible that keys create asemics?

  • Neil Gordon

Asemic imagination bursting at the seams! GUIDO AND KERRI!

DVS: your asemics emit MUCH SLACK!!!!!
