I will create a video with the complete book. Everything will be exhibited in the MAC (Museum of Art Cañadense) during December - January.

 

I was sent some beautiful asemic work for 16,#4, i think its an original ,do i hold on to it or send it on to someone else. Its really icredible work,she put a lot of time into it!

Neil - if its from Lesley Magwood Fraser (South Africa) - its your contribution from her for the Asemics # 4 project. You now have to make 16 of your own to be posted to each of the participants of # 4.

Did everyone receive all of their Book #2 chapters? Do we have the tutorial on how to assemble the final piece?

Mim, I have only received 7 + my own, of the #2 book.  So I am only half way there.  I think Cheryl has (or used to) a turorial over in the colabrative book thread, on how to bind a book.  I am thinking about also binding the great envelopes when I bind mine together.

 

Lesley, #4 arrived today!  Thank you.  I haven't even started on mine or opened my mail yet.  I'm sure it is fantastic.  :-)

OMG, I am such a terrible typist!  I meant tutorial.

I will be posting a discussion with photo's on how to bind the books once I have a FULL book of chapters that I can use as an example.  So far I am averaging about 7 - 8 chapters per book. At this stage I think it will be a simple 4-hole pamphlet stitch binding.

I have 7 chapters including my own and PrettyLily was the first one I received. I have PrettyLily, Bifidus, Imelda, E, Cheryl, and John Bennett. They are all so unit and fabulous. Yes, PrettyLily, the great envelopes might have to be included somehow. Thanks Cheryl for letting us know there'll be instructions as I've never made a book before.

Due to language problems - ie misunderstanding  (we've all had them at on or another time :-), Roger de Wint will not be tackling Asemics # 3. I know some of you have started posting - I will try get him to return the work to me - so please let me know who has.  I am very happy to prepare another chapter.  Bruno, true to his word has also returned the pages he has received so far - I got them this morning. I will make a list and let you know whose I have. IF anyone who is NOT participating in book # 3 so far would like to take Rogers place, let me know.

Mim I included the envelopes in my Project 26 book and they look great! They add nicely to the book, and as it's a Mail Art project it suits very well.....

I recieved Ginny Lloyd's beautiful asemic chapter #1 today.  I allready have 12 chapters including mine.  Just four and i am done. Expecting from Italy, England, Belgium and USA. There i move to do #4.

Ok - 31st July everyone - today is the day the project was to be completed. I am hoping that means that work is in the post as I for certain do not have all the pieces of books 1 and 2.  All four books will be exhibited in South Africa on the first Trans-diciplinary Collaborative Art Practice exhibition which will be held at our top gallery here in Durban before traveling.  I repeat - collaborations of this kind are dependent on mutual trust and reciprocation. I will put the list up for work I have received tomorrow as I also need all the pieces in order to post the binding instructions - I have had numerous requests in this regard.

I had an influx of chapters last week and have almost caught up. All the American chapters will be in the post tomorrow and the last European ones by Wednesday. I am still four chapters short which is a slight difficulty for me as I chose to include a quote inside each persons chapter. This means I have four quoteless chapters at the moment. I will give it a week and then decide how to finish off.
The work recieved so far has been very interesting for me and I am hoping each person will be equaly creative when it comes to the binding process. I hope every one will post photos of the end product when done?

all works have been posted. the last copies about a week ago. but apparently not all have arrived yet. let's cross fingers (no confidence in snail mail here). regards, Bernd

Cheryll, Havn't got a list with me here, will check in here on Tuesday or Wednesday when I know everything is done. The four short might well have arrived by then (always hopefull) Got some good feathers today for the last couple......

Lesley, I received you Asemic # 4 last week.  Thank you, Miss Early Bird!  It is a wonderfully, creative, exciting work!  I haven't started mine yet, but hope to do so VERY soon. 

 

I was happy to hear that you bound your Project 26 with the envelopes and it worked well.  That is what I attend to do too with these books.  They are just too great not to use them as a part of the books.  IMHO

Hey prettylily Sue! What does IMHO mean?? Yes the envelopes add to the books I must say, some of them are as creative as the pages.... now go and get on with your asemics! I am now on an asemic roll and making more mail art with them.

Sorry Lesley!  Didn't mean to confuse you with internet short hand.  I see Mim came to the rescue.  I think it's exciting that you are on an Asemic roll, Lesley.  Due to family obligations, I was unable to start until this month.  Now I am ready to rock and roll.  I plan to kick start myself tomorrow!  Today was a day of rest.  :-)

I recieved Guido's chapter 16-1 today. Great work, thanks Guido. I have 13 including mine .

Thank you everyone for letting us know who has received what.  This has been quite a difficult project to keep track of with so many participants. We would really appreciate you making the effort to contact the people YOU have not received work from. I have contacted Roger and asked him to return the pages he has received to me and I will forward to Katerina.

Hi Mim,  I think Cheryl had a note she is posting for Carlyle Baker.  Check the group 2 list.  I just did a quick inventory for what has come in from group 2.  I have received from from Roberto K. & Samuel.  Otherwise I am missing the same as your missing list +  I have not received from Macron.  Will be contacting them later in the week.

 

If anyone has not received from me, please let me know.  Mine were sent back in June.

 

  

Thanks for the info. I do have Carlyle's land mail address, but will not need to write as I now know Cheryl's sending it. Wonder if mail has gotten hung up somewhere en route. oh well, we'll see what shows up.
